Hi K.-
Most Dr's now split the MMR shot if you request them to do so without charging you a fee. I gave it to my son separately. It's becoming more common than you know. You should speak to your insurance company.
Hope this helps-

Please disregard my request below. I found a pediatrician in NYC who will split the shots for a fee of $60. (I would remove the posting but don't know how!)
Hi,
I've decided I want to err on the side of caution with my son's MMR immunizations and give him single dose shots. After having been told it's not possible several times, I found a pharmacy upstate that can get it in single doses.
However, due to the "limited requests" for single dose shots, I have to buy the entire box for each shot, and it's going to cost around $700. I'm willing to do that, if I have to, but was wondering if anyone knows a pharmacy in Manhattan that will sell the shots individually and if anyone knows the safest spacing in-between the immunizations.
Thanks so much for your help!

I'm having the mmr split up for my daughters. This was available through my pediatrician at no additional cost. They got the Measles at our last visit and will get the rubella and mumps at the next. Is this what you mean by individal shots? Getting it split? If not, it's another option to look into that your doctor may have available. It's pretty common today and I'm surprised that no one in the area would be able to accomodate you.
I have to agree with your other 2 responses, I also had my son's MMR split up at no extra cost by my pediatrician on the Upper West Side. Are you sure you are going to a good pediatrician? By the way, it was split into 3 different shots, one for measles, one for mumps and one for rubella.
