Hi Everyone,
I've been supervising a medical office for a year now and just got told to get my things and clock out, because I just couldn't work the weekends anymore. The sad thing is, we we're not open on the weekends. My administrator was behind on her job and made us come in on the weekends to do it for her. When I showed concern as a single mommy of a 2 and 9 year old that my daycare is closed on the weekends. She said,
"GET YOUR THINGS AND GO CLOCK OUT!!!. That's my story. That was a week ago and I just keep faxing my resume and going on interviews. I am use to making $15.00 an hour. Does any mommy out there know of anyone hiring? I'm a team player and a hard worker. Let me know, please. Love, T.

I wish I had a great lead for you - but I don't. I just wanted to wish you good luck.

Hopefully you find a job that's more understanding of your time!!!! It's hard being a single mom!

Is there no other supervisor you can talk to about this? Have you applied for unemployment yet? At least that will help a bit while you get back onto your feet, and perhaps they have some job leads?

Best of success,
C.

Sorry about your job T.. I was a medical recruiter for many years and my best advice would be to check out the local hospitals. Some hospitals actually own clinics, but people with your experience also work in the business office and admissions, amongst other places throughout the hospital. Check out the postings - most are probably available on-line. My other advice is DO NOT bring up money or weekend work until you have been offered the job. People who started out with their "demands" never got jobs from me. Also - some of the hospitals have daycare or daycare connections and all have "flexible spending" so you won't have to pay taxes on your childcare and pretty decent health insurance. I don't know where you live, but check out Harris (listed as Texas Health Resources, Baylor, Plaza Medical Center, Cook Childrens and JPS to start. Good luck!

Hi T.,
Do you have any technical experience? I have a great contract house that I go through and have landed positions (either myself or friends) at EDS, 7-11 Corporate, Amdocs, XO Communications and Cingular. Could be management, testing or whatever… just let me know and I will send you the contact info, I am sure you could make more than $15.00 per hour and they provide insurance (rare for contracting).

Thanks,
E. L.

T.,

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I'd love to tell you about a great home-based business opportunity. I'm a working mom of a 3-year-old with another on the way and will soon be able to stay home full time due to this amazing business I started only a few months ago. (I'm currently a corporate executive with a technology company). I'd love to tell you more about it. Please contact me.
