I really need support for me regarding being single raising a 17 year old son alone with no family.
Hello P.. I am also a single mom and have been from day one as well. My family is part of my support system. I have met several other people through my son's extra-cirricular activites. Those people have been very intrumetal additions to my support system. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help you start to build a support system for you and your son.
Have you tried Meetup.com? I looked for a mom's of teens group but didn't see anything so maybe you could start your own group?
I'm also living in Colorado and my outer family live in Illinois but I'd like to help you out if I can and you'll let me. Our son is 21 but I know what it's like living with the challenging of some kind of support, etc. So if you need anything at all, I'd like to help out. My family and I live in Littleton, Colorado.

I don't know about a support group, but I looked into a co-housing community a while back and it looks great. Each family has their own home, but there are communitiy rooms along with a certain number of community meals and responsibilities. I believe there are communities in Golden and Highlands Ranch.

You might want to look at meetup.com. They have a lot of social groups.
