I was wondering what the best no spill/leak sippy cup is. I have a few of different brands but when turned upside down or shaken they leak. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.
Thankyou :)

So What Happened?

Thank you to all who responded with your advice! Sounds like Playtex is the favorite one and gerber a close second. Thanks so much :)

I like Playtex and Gerber. Gerber has some that are insulated and they keep milk nice and cold. However, do NOT use Evenflo brand cups. They leak and warp in the dishwasher. Just a waste of money!

I will only use playtex. Plus when you buy one brand no matter the style you will always have the right plugs for the lids! :)

I've tried the Avent ones. They all leak, it's just how much. Avent is good as well as the Playtex. Good Luck!

Gerber!!!!! I used those cheap ones...didn't work. My son chewed through the rubber tops! I started using Gerber (plastic tops) and still use them. They aren't too expensive either. I haven't had one leak yet!!!

I like the Playtex Sipster and Insulator and also, Gerber Fun Grips. I really didn't care too much for Munchkin or Avent Magic Trainer Cup. Nuby is ok, but, it too eventually starts to leak. Oh, one more thing...there's a must-have tool(my opinion) called "Mommy's Helper" Bottle Keeper Strap. You can find it at Amazon.com or the Baby Depot at Burlington Coat Factory Store. This strap has saved me from continually picking up sippy-cups that are thrown by my toddler. Unfortunately, they don't work on the Playtex and Gerber cups(atleast, not the strap I have). Works great on Nuby cups!

Well, there you have it. Hope this was helpful.

The best ones i have found are sold in the juice isle. The are called tummy tumblers, they usually have cartoon characters on the lids. They are $5 for 3 juices, they are completely spill proof and reuseable.

The best ones I found were the $.97 cups at wal-mart they have a soft top on them and they are easy for little hands to hold. I think they are called Nubby. I didn't have problems with leaking and they don't have that little flow attatchment.

I would have to agree, for me the Playtex Insulator has worked the best and so far I haven't had issues with leaking. Good Luck.

The biggest problem I had with sippy cups was getting the valves clean, so keep that in mind. For the ease of cleaning (they can be dismantled enough) we liked the Avent. Surprising enough, we also had good luck with the Take-N-Toss cups. I do not remember ever having a leaking problem with them, but we did not start using that brand until our son had better control (around 18 months)

Honestly, I've yet to find one that is 100% spill-proof. Playtex is the best brand I've found, but they do leak a bit when turned upside down. And soda will fizz out of anything, if you didn't know. :)

Since I was using Avent for pumping anyway, it was natural for us to get the Avent sippy stuff to use with our existing bottles. It doesn't leak much, but my daughter sucks out mroe water than she can swallow and then spits it out, so effectively she ends up wet a lot anyway. But we let her do that in her car seat and she dries out pretty fast in the Nevada heat, and it keeps her cool. Wouldn't want to do that with anything other than water, though!

I got a free Playtex one in the mail but it was hard and for older kids, so while the leaking level was okay, my daughter also didn't like it much.

I like playtex. I don't know what brand it is but I also like the ones that change with the child. Good luck. I also prefered the no spill type to save on the messes.

My advice is to deal with leaky sippy cups and consider spill resistant good enough, because sippy cups with removeable valves get nasty and are impossible to wash thuroughly.

S.:
It's amazing how many of them do leak-spill proof-NOT! The ones I really like are the hard plastic NUK brand. They usually have a white insert that goes in the lid. You can find them in a variety of colors. My favorite are red and blue. Do NOT buy the NUK with the soft/silicone lid & sipper. Kids can easily poke their finger in and it will not work properly after that. Best of luck...
