Sit N Stand, Double or Single Stroller?

I have a three month old and a almost four year old boy. Would like to get some exercise and also get the kids outside. My preschooler is only 40 inches and 35 pounds. He would walk a few blocks, but not longer trips. Should I just stick with a single for the baby only? Should I get a sit n stand or a traditional double. He might be too big for a double though. Also what brands do you like?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the advice on which stroller would be best. We decided to go with the Joovy sit n stand ultralight. We figured our almost four year old didn't need to be in a conventional stroller. This way he can walk a good part of the time, but still have rests when he gets tired. He loves the little bench and choosing between sitting or standing. He can also jump out pretty easily. Baby is in the carseat facing us and loves it! She fell asleep on our first walk. Seems like a perfect fit! My older son loves to push it and they beg to go on walks now.

When my second was born, my first was 20 months old. I originally had a double stroller but that was so hard to push and I would not suggest it for walks even around the mall. I bought the Jovi sit n stand stroller and love it. My 5 1/2 year old still uses it and I push him and his almost 4 year old brother, a total of 80 pounds together and it is still easy to maneuver even one handed. I would highly recommend it and it is comparable in price as well.

I love the sit and stand that I have. The older child can either sit or stand on the back and the younger sits in the front. It also makes it easy to jump off and walk for the older child when they start wanting to walk more, but you always have the option to strap them in if you're at the mall or somewhere where you don't want them off and running around.

I have a double stroller that I got for my two when my youngest was born. Now at 5 years and 2 years they both can fit in it fine. My oldest is 43lbs and about 43" tall and she sits in it without an issue. Ours has the ability to remove the snack tray so putting our eldest in front is never a problem.

if u want a stroller 4 them 2 excercise with u @ the same time (like walking fast, jogging), i suggest a double jogging stroller, i love my TIKE TECH one, i use it every day with my 2-1/2 year old and 10 month old baby, it is really smooth and it wasnt so expensive like the other ones in the market and has a great quality!, BUT if u need something to travel, go to the mall and just walk around the corner i suggest a double COMBI stroller, good quality, but a little expensive

I too am a recent fan of the Joovy Caboose, a sit-and-stand model I got off Craig's List. My daughter is 3 1/2 and can get out & walk if she feels like it, but often prefers to sit (or stand). Our infant carseat (for our 6-week-old) straps on safely onto the front seat, and there's an accordion sunshade that works great in conjunction with the one on the carseat.
I purchased this stroller with the intent to go for walks in the neighborhood to get some exercise. It works very well for this purpose, and the weight of the stroller on the hills adds to the exercise. Downside is that it is significantly heavier than our single stroller, and though relatively easy to collapse it is awkward/challenging for me to lift in and out of the trunk. The height of the handle is good for me since I'm tall, but with my long stride I do occasionally kick the toddler (rear) footrest or my daughter's feet.
Still wonder sometimes if I should have gotten a double jogger stroller for easier exercise function, but I'm pretty happy with this one. Hope this is helpful - good luck!

My daughter bought a sit-n-stand when her youngest was born and her eldest 3. She used it when she walked to the park. She didn't use it if she was going anywhere with a car because it was heavy and difficult to fit into the trunk.

Another mother asked about these strollers a few months ago. Perhaps you cud find those answers on this site.

I have an almost-four-year old boy and a 15 month old boy. We love our Baby Trend Sit-and-Stand LX stroller that I got for my second baby shower. It folds fairly flat and works great in places like the zoo or the mall where I need to get places with both children quickly. My older son loves to either sit or stand on the bench seat while the baby gets to lean back in the front seat with a tray. It even has good storage room underneath it! Best of luck to you!
