YES! I am now on a CPAP machine and it is great.
The study itself was an overnight stay at the clinic. They hook you up to all sorts of sensors. They are monitoring you all night long.
If you are really having a hard time breathing, they may wake you and place you on a machine that night, just to see how you do.
For me they sent the first set of results to my Sleep Doctor. She said I only had 1 dream sleep episode.. Most people have 15 per night. I also would stop breathing every few minutes!!! No wonder I am so exhausted..
The next study, again over night, they actually placed me on the CPAP machine and again monitored me all night. The adjusted the machine to see what air pressure I was needing. The Doctor then did prescribe a machine for me.
It has helped a whole lot. I feel rested in the mornings.
I used to have to have a 2 hour nap each afternoon, now maybe only 1 time a week do I need a nap.
It really has made a difference.
