My 7 year old sleep walks and has no recollection of it at all. Normal? Should I be concerned? She will get up and turn on kitchen light and say shes looking for something then goes back to bed. She left her bedroom light on and fell back asleep in her bedroom. Im left scratching my head. One time she pulled down her pants to pee on step but she didnt thankfully. she never pees her bed. But she didnt remember it next day and laughed at herself. Hmmm...

What can I do next?

It's fairly common and most kids out grow it before they are 15.
A very few continue to sleep walk as adults.
Ask your parents and your in laws if other family members walked in their sleep as kids.
It tends to run in families.
I talk in my sleep - I never out grew it.
When I was in school in chorus, my Mom says she use to hear me sing in my sleep.
My husband has had some interesting conversations with me over the years and he tells me about them in the morning.
Apparently one night while I was fast asleep I pointed to the window and told him the seals were coming - they were following the wire.
He says he can keep me chatting for almost 20 min at a time and sometimes the stories are pretty good.
I never remember anything about it.

I used to sleep walk also but have grown out of it. For me, it seems like it was just before puberty. My mother told me that I would get up about 45 minutes to 1 hour after I fell asleep, on a night that I was most likely way overtired, its almost like thats what would trigger it. It was like you said that your daughter did. I would go into the kitchen and look for something, or even go and ask my mom or dad a question loaded with nonsense...once I started talking I usually woke myself up, LOL.

My daughter did that when she was younger, from about Toddlerhood.
But she is now 9 and seems to have grown out of it.

they are still in a sleep state, while "awake."
I noticed my daughter did that, when she was especially tired...and perhaps her depth of sleep, was just a light sleep.
Not a solid sleep.

Idk if its normal or not but my 8 yr old do the same thing. Im up at least 2am every night because I am worried that she may sleep walk out of the house at night. Every night when she is going to the restroom, she'll do things like..go behind the entertainment stand or go in another room. I ALWAYS have to help her to the restroom. And she is NEVER in her room in the mornings. Always end up in her sister room somehow

We're a whole family of sleepwalkers. It makes nights interesting to say the least. ;)

My mom, brother, and I all walk, and so do both of my boys from time to time. One of my neices sleepwalks, too.

Most of us talk in our sleep, as well.

The people who have married into the family are quite entertained. :)

Yep my daughter is the same. She does things and has no recollection the next day. She usually comes through when I am still up and talks about crazy stuff and I just usually keep quiet and guide her back to bed. Once she even came through while I was reading in bed and she did a little dance. hee hee. She never remembers. I have been told also that she will grow out of it and it always happens in the first couple of hours of sleep, so I am usually still awake. I used to be a bit worried about her going on sleepovers in case she thought she was in her own house and had an accident but everyone is prepared and so far the only incident was when my sister found her in my sisters closet on her hand & knees looking for me. :-( Again my sister just hugged her and put her back to bed.
