Hi J.! I run a small business too and I LOVE my American Express Business card. Let me give you an example - I had a distributor who recently shorted me on a shipment. When I called them about it, they gave me the run-around and told me it would have to go through a number of their internal departments before I could get an answer...or a credit. I had paid for the materials using my Am Ex, so I called them up and told them what was happening. I had ordered and paid for 150 pieces, but was only shipped 124. Am Ex immediately credited me for the missing 26 pieces and investigated the situation on my behalf. They dealt directly with the distributor to resolve the matter - I didn't have to do a thing! At the end of it all, the distributor agreed to credit me for only a portion of the missing pieces. But you know what, Am Ex credited me for the rest, so I was made whole. The commercials you see are true - they really do take care of their customers. Believe Tina Fey!
The card is also great for building your business's credit rating. Over the last 3 years, I've been promoted up to the gold card which earns you all kinds of benefits, and was just recently told I am pre-approved for the platinum card, which gives you even more benefits. You earn points for every dollar you spend which can be used on all kinds of things - from free nights in hotels and free flights to credits at various stores. Even if you don't travel for business, you can use these points for personal travel...will make our next vacation much less expensive.
Hope this helps! : )
