Hi -
I've heard that the Center for Creative and Therapeutic Arts (CCTA) is very good. They are located on the LV Community College campus.
We recently moved here from PA. My son is high functioning autistic and was involved in a theraputic social skills group there. Has anyone heard about anything like that out here? Basically there was 1 therapist to every 2-3 kids, and they helped the children interact, communicate and play together.

HI K.
I know of a great group but they are located in CA that just started called ustoogymastics.com they basically are a program that helps high function artistic along with other developmental delay/handicap children develop social skills along with other great skills via gymnastics. Maybe they can help you located a group out here. Thought let you know =)

I moved here in July of last year and I have an Autistic son and one with Asperger's. I think sometimes the school may have a group or know of one. If you happen to find out anything please could you forward the info to me? I am finding that PA. had much better resources than Nevada. Maybe we could talk sometime to give eachother some moral support. T..

You didn't mention how old your son is. My son is speech delayed. What I've learned from that is that if you've got a child under 3 years old, you should contact Nevada Early Intervention Services. If your child is over 3, you deal with the Clark County School District. So maybe one of those places could give you some ideas? If you have a pediatrician, he/she might also be able to help you find something appropriate. Good luck!
