I would ask each student to bring their favorite book(s) to help build the baby's library. You may need to have a sign up sheet to avoid a lot of duplicates.
Hi All,
My son's Kindergarten teacher is due with her first child (a girl) on March 15. I am the room mom and I am totally at a loss as to what would be an appropriate gift for her from the class. We are in PISD, so I can't "ask" other parents for a donation for something big. Plus, I thought it would be nice for all of the kids to give her something individually... but what? There's only so much artwork she (or anyone) can keep, and I wanted it to be meaningful and lasting. She is taking Spring break + 5 weeks off and will be back to finish the year, so we'll see her back again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
C.

"Things Remembered" has wonderful gifts that she will keep forever.

I would have the class make an alphabet book for the baby. Assign each student a letter and have them draw a picture to correspond and have them put their name in the corner of the page. You can then have it laminated or even bound at Kinkos. You could also have each parent send a new or gently used book for the babies library and maybe even send a $1 or $2 and then you can get a gift card from Babies R Us for her. I'm sure anything would be much appreciated. Hope this helps!

I would find a picture frame with a large mat, and have all the kids sign their names on the mat. Then, when the baby is born, she can put the baby's first pic in the frame, and it will be surrounded by all the kids' signatures! We got one of those from our shower attendees, and it is so neat! Way more personal than a Diaper Genie, and it will still be used way after diapers aren't. ;)
