Hello, mamas--
We are moving from Austin to the Dallas area in August and are looking for a Spanish immersion or dual-language preschool for our toddler (he will be 18 mos. in Aug). I am a native Spanish speaker and my husband is bilingual, so we'd love to find someplace that offers substantial Spanish input for our son (he is currently enrolled in a Spanish-speaking daycare in Austin). We have heard of Spanish Schoolhouse . . . any others? We have not decided on an area to live in yet, as finding a good preschool is part of the equation. We are not familiar with Dallas at all, so any advice is appreciated!
Thanks so much, K.
Thank you all, your information has been so helpful! Turns out that Spanish Schoolhouse and Caminito start enrolling at age 2, so we'll have to wait on those, but we'll be looking into the other options this coming week and see what comes of it. Again, thank you!
Try Comunidad or El Kinder. Both excellent programs.
Caminito in Keller is small but great - Keller is in north Fort Worth so that may be too far for you
We haven't been to either--we're just now looking to start DD in the fall--but have heard good things about both Spanish Schoolhouse (several locations) and Bilingual Beginnings in Allen. And let me just put in a plug for moving to McKinney--we LOVE it here!
I just want to say that we've been at Spanish Schoolhouse for four years and LOVE it!
We have LOVED Spanish Schoolhouse in Allen. The teachers and directors are so loving and go above and beyond. Good luck in your search! I know there are others out there, but you can't go wrong with SSH!

I have to add my endorsement of Spanish Schoolhouse as well! Heard about it through friends who go to the Coppell site and are very happy there. We go to the Frisco one, and our 2 year old LOVES going, and they keep us all updated on daily activities and cultural lessons for the kids. Good luck!
Dallas Spanish House (located in East Dallas, not far from 75) offers a half-day Spanish Immersion Preschool. I have heard from some friends who have attended classes there with their children and they love it. The website is

Good luck with your search and welcome to Dallas!
