I went to the doctor last week for spotting. Come to find out I was fine and the baby was fine, heard the heart beat. I have since been spotting on and off for about a week. I go back for my regular check up tomorrow. Most of the time the spotting is brownish but the have been a few red times. I really wasn't to worried about it until now. It is never constant and that releives me a little. Also I have a 27 pound 1 year old could that be the reason? Stress, I am going through a divorce? Please help.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So I went to the Doctor today and they said I am fine. Heartbeat is great! I do have a yeast infection, due to some medicines I was taking for a sinus infection. They said that it could the spotting could be due to either the yeast infection or my plecenta (spelling ?) could have a ripped a small bit. Guess it was not a huge deal. Thank you to everyone that replied it made me feel a lot better about the situtation.

I spotted at the beginning of my pregnancy. Stress is definately not helpful and I would avoid lifting your son as much as you can. My OBGYN said that alot of women spot throughout pregnancy and just to watch out for severe cramping.

I know how the stress situation is. I am 7 months and I have been cramping for 4 months. I have had contractions for 2 months. It is probably just the stress. I have found that the breathing techniques that they teach you in Lamaze class really helps when it comes to releiving stress. When you start to get overwelmed just close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Breathe with your stomach. It really helps. This is my first baby and she will definitely be a handful. Let me know if it helps. Hope to hear from you soon.

I was pregnant and going through a divorce once with little ones and spotted quite a bit. It just took bedrest and relaxation exercises to help. Don't worry and I will be praying for you. If you need anything email me at ____@____.com...the important thing is no clots and don't get upset. I know that is not easy to do in your situation but try to keep focused on the baby inside and stay calm.

When I was pregnant with my daugter, it was litterally the perfect pregnancy. When I got pregnant with my son, I started spotting at 7 wks. Always light, mostly pink blood, red once in a while. At 9wks, I passed a cup full of clots. Some the size of a quarter. I just knew I was miscarring. I went to the doctor the next morning. They did an ultrasound and I got to hear the heartbeat. Then again at 14wks, I did the same thing. I went back to the doctor and again had an ultrasound. By this time I could make out his arms and legs and was able to see them move. I cried with relief. I continued to spot the rest of my pregnancy. I didn't pass anymore clots, but sometimes the blood was bright red. The doctors don't know why I was spotting. They said 30% of women spot during their pregnancy. My daughter was two at the time and was also big for her age. I believe she was around 40# at that point. (She is currently 100% in height and weight) Anyway, I had to stop holding her. Whenever I did I would notice the spotting almost immedietly. Even if I tried to go for a walk with her in the stroller. Just try not to hold him as much. I know it is hard. We spent alot of time on the couch cuddling to make up for it. I don't know if the stress would effect the pregnancy or not. Good luck and let me know how things go. A.
