I'm 9 weeks along as well, and got a pap last week. The doctor told me that I may have spotting, but she said not to worry, it was from the test and NOT the baby! So, it's normal. I usually bleed after mine and haven't had a problem.

I had it every time I had a PAP while pregnant - call your doc if you're worried, but I really wouldn't forgo a PAP given a history of HPV.

Good luck

Spotting does happen after a pap, but if it lasts more than a day or 2 you might want to call your doctor.

I have had 3 miscarriages and I just recently had my first child 4 months ago. I had spotting after my pap test with him. It is completely normal. I will keep you in my prayers. I know it's natural to freak out about everything after you have experienced miscarriages.

If you have a history of miscarriage, I would go get checked. It is normal to spot after a PAP when you are pregnant, but with your history, better safe than sorry. I too have that history (4 miscarriages) and would never have let any amount of spotting go unchecked. It's more than likely nothing, but I'd get checked just to be sure. A PAP is a normal part of your prenatal care and I'm sure the Dr. wasn't concerned, but insist they check you.

I am surprised your doctor did not tell you that you might spot after the pap test. It happens. Hope you don't think this is weird but I took some time and prayed for you and that little baby that you are carrying in your womb. Be blessed.

After my pap test when I was 10 weeks pregnant my doctor informed me that spotting was perfectly normal but if you are concerned you should contact your doctor. Mine told me that if the spotting continued more than 12 hours after the test to be more concerned and notify her.

I always had that happen while I was pregnant. My doc always told me that it would probably happen. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if you are concerned just call your doctor & let them know what is going on and they will let you know if it is something you should be concerned about.
