Please help .... Iv taken my baby girl to the hospital twiced this week only to be told the same thing nothing is wrong with her, she is 16 month old and a healthy baby but from wed she started limping and dragging her leg also walking on the outside of her foot. This seems to come and go and its causing her a bit of pain but because each time iv taken her to the hospital she has been able to walk on it they keep saying shes ok. I demanded an x-ray of her foot today just incase and the results came back everything was ok, but tonight after dinnertime i placed her down to play and her foot went away from her again and shes struggling to walk on it. Any advice would be appreciated. Im starting to get really worried with how fast its coming and going plus its been happening for days now.

What can I do next?

I would get video of it the next time it happens and take it to your pediatrician.

Yep, video her when she is doing that.
THEN show the Doctor.

The ER is the wrong place to go.

First time, after hours, etc... Totally the right place to rule out big bad scary (seizure, stroke, etc).

But that's all the ER does: keeps you from dying / get a person stabilized enough to go home or be admitted in a different department.

They don't do TV show mystery-diagnosis type stuff.

They determine if you'll likely die in the next 12 hours (when your doctor's office opens), and if not, send you home with instructions to see your doctor or a specialist if its clearly a certain thing.

Doesn't matter how serious a thing is (could be cancer, but if you've had that lump for x period of time... Unless its so painful that you're screaming on the ground and can't walk... The ER is the wrong place to go. GP & then oncology).

The ER is designed to deal with emergencies/crisis. This has become chronic. I suggest that you take her to the pediatrician who has had more experience with babies and will be able to explore this further.

A video is not a bad idea.
This could be a soft tissue issue (xray won't show that) or something to do with foot, ankle, knee, hip or any of the muscles/tendons/ligaments along the way.
Does she sit on her foot?
Maybe she gets pins and needles as circulation is restored when she stands up to walk?
Why not take her to a pediatric podiatrist to have her checked out?
They'd have a better idea what is going on.

I would take her to her pediatrician. My daughter fell and then stopped using her leg...she was crawling at the time and pulling to standing. She stopped standing all together and then would only crawl a few paces then stop and stretch her leg out to rest it.

The fall happened on a Friday night, and I took her in on a Monday morning. The pediatrician sent us for an x-ray...it was a broken leg. The break is called a toddler fracture...and actually it was good we waited because sometimes it will not show up on x-ray for a few days until it starts to heal, then it becomes visible. Her leg was not swollen or red and only slightly tender to the touch.

Our pediatrician then called the orthopedic doctor who put the cast on her leg...the cast was only on for three weeks. They heal so fast at that age.

So wait and take her to the doctor on Monday and let them check her out. HUGS!!
