Take it every now and then and it helped my attitude almost instantly! My husband is on deployment and I'm home with 4 kids by myself so there are days when my chipper attitude are lacking!
Hi all. So I recently came off of Cymbolta for depression/anxiety. I would like to get preggers again soon so of course I didn't want to be on that. Now that I am off of it I relieze how much it helped with my PMS I forgot how bad I was before it. Mostly to my husband EVERY little thing he does or says makes me want to scream!! I have a very short fuze not just with the hubs but its worse with him. I do NOT want back on an Anti Depressent....it was HELL to get off of it! I'll think about it again when and if I ever have my second and last baby...till then...NO WAY! I have taken St. Johns Wort when I was yunger and I remembered it helping but I stopped because it can mess with your Birth Controle. Well now I am off my birth controle and anit depressents , I think I am going to try the St. Johns wort again. I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions on it...anyone else take it? Like it? Hate it? I need to do something I hate being so mean and crabby. Thanks!
P.S. I do not plan on taking then when/ if i get pregnant

My husband did GREAT on St. John's Wort, but it did nothing for me. At the time, SAMe and TMG helped me. I have a daughter (see http://itsnotmental.blogspot.com/) who got off an antidepressant partly because some day she also would like to become pregnant, and her doctor is having her take supplements that help mitochondrial function. Also, she was found to have some genetic differences necessitating methylated vitamins B12 and Folate AND high amounts of vitamin D (which are all critical to our and the baby's health).
The best person to help with this are MDs who specialize in what is called "functional medicine" or "integrative medicine").
It's safer than Rx drugs but it's better to use L-tryptophan or 5-HTP, the serotonin precursors - work on improving your diet, eating lots of raw superfoods (such as greens powders w/seaweeds & algaes, chia seed hemp seed and flax seed oils, etc.), balancing the minerals and hormones in your body, avoiding sugar and caffeine, etc. Melatonin can also help.
Check with Standard Process and find a trained practioner to put you on the correct whole food supplements. Handle the underlying problem, for you and the baby you want, and the rest of your family.
best, k
There are also other supplements that can help. My pms and cramps went away almost immediately when I started taking them. I also sailed through menopause. Let me know if you are interested.
I have been through similar times in my life. Personally, I've managed with acupuncture, consistent exercise and weight maintenance, fish oil and cutting back sugar/white flour/caffeine.
There are a lot of good ideas here, though! I think it's mostly a question of finding what's best for you.
Hello.... I tried St. John's Wort and I was very surprised. It worked well with no side effects. I have been taking it for a few months now and I've noticed more patience, less crankiness and less stress . I haven't had side effects from it. I've asked other moms and they have recommended St. John's Wort with great benefits so that's why I tried it. However, if you plan on becoming pregnant any time soon, speak to your Dr. because I've heard it shouldn't be taken before or during pregnancy. Good Luck, I hope this helps you...:)
I have never taken St. Johns Wort, but I take a B Complex vitamin called Pantothenic Acid. I can understand the getting made a hubby for every little thing. I take this and it helps tremendously. And it is a vitamin, so most likely safe if you are pregnant. I hope this helps.
