Stain Help! - Lees Summit,MO

I have had very good results removing stains using a produce called Zout -- that's spelled with a Z - - . It is available at most grocery stores.

I swear by Oxyclean and also Resolve stain remover; however, I have learned with GREASY stains such as pizza sauce (and anything else grease-based, including cooking oil!) I have the best results if I immediately put undiluted dish soap directly on the stain and use my fingernail (or plastic spoon) to work up a lather. Soaking is always helpful, too, but even without soaking, the dish soap works miracles. I have even had it work on items that my hubby accidentally put in the dryer with stains. I do always spray over the dish soap with Resolve just before washing, too, and always wash with a scoop of Oxyclean in the washer. Good luck!!

I keep a bar of lye soap around all the time. It has gotten out a lot of stains after trying other methods. I recently removed nail polish from the carpet with peroxide, so that might also be an option.

Three words: DREFT Stain Remover. It is in the Laundry Detergent aisle. Dreft is a brand for infant detergent, and the stain remover (it comes in a spray bottle) is the BEST! It gets any stain out, I swear I will never use any other. I will use it long after my son has grown up.

The best stain remover is free and completely harmless to your clothes. It's just sunlight. There have been very few stains I havent been able to remove just by hanging the garment out to dry in strong sunlight. I have even done that in the middle of winter when the sun was shining. I swear it's the best. Before using a bunch of chemicals that can damage your clothes, just give it a shot to hang it out in the sun, you will be surprised.

I've had really good luck with oxyclean. I put some of it on the stain and then add a little water to make it into a kind of goopy solution (you'll feel it warm up too) Rub it into the stain, let it sit for a while then put it in the wash with oxyclean added to the load as well.

Oxy Clean works excellent. I've had friends have it take out ink and red wine stains both of which have dried. Good luck! When you find the solution post back so the rest of us find out what works for you!

You can try and tap it out. Make sure it's wet or spray it with stain stuff or use dishsoap. Put a towel down and then put the stain face down on the towel. Tap the back of the stain with a hard object, handle of a screw driver or back of a toothbrush or something. It should tap most of the stain into the towl. I have removed several stains including sharpie marker and mustard this way.

Soaking in Oxy clean or Biz and cold water for 2 days is another way I get difficult stains out also.

I have also found great success with using Zout, and it's REALLY cheap! Another option is Lestoil, which is actually a floor cleaner, but my mother (5 kids) and grandmother (8 kids) always used it and it is great! It's kinda hard to find, but check with an ACE Hardware store, if you have them in MO.

soak in oxy clean overnight, 2 scoops in washer with 2" to 3" of warm water
works on just about everything.

I am not sure about clothes that have already been washed. I haven't tried this with that. When I want to get tomato or berry stains out I spot clean with dishsoap or whatever else works and pour extremely hot water on the stain.

i buy mine online and it is amazing! it took hot sauce out of my beige burber carpet!

I second oxyclean. If it's bad, you may need to soak it. I have had it make holes if I do it too much, though. Sunlight is great too, but it might bleach the whole pants a bit.

I have 3 year old twins, so i am always stain removing, i keep a bucket by my washer, i spray "mean green" found at Dollar general stores, on all the stains, then i put it in the bucket and use dry bleach ( it is safe for whites to colors) with hot water enough to cover , and every time i add something else i add more water and dry bleach untill the bucket is pretty full them i wash a load add all the water from bucket, there is rarely a stain that i can not get out!!They do have to be in the bucket for a few hours mine are at least over night..hope this helps!!

simple green (undiluted) mixed w/ clorox 2 (i mix them in the clorox cap and scrub w/ a toothbrush, works everytime. also, it;s easiest to find simple green in the automotive section, even though it has laundry instructions on the bottle, good luck!!

one of the best solutions we have ever found for removing stains is to make a paste out of granular dishwashing soap (cascade or that type) we used to have to soak my brothers baseball pants in it. So when my sons hit baseball age I gave it a try. it will take out anything. I would suggest making the paste and trying a small amount of it on the pants. be careful to try it in an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it won't take the color out of the fabric. But you should be safe. we used it to clean the babies bigs, and the big kids ketchup stains. its a great thing

Hi! The best stain remover I have found anywhere is called Zout (and I have tried everything I could find because our daughter had reflux really bad). I buy mine at Target. It's a red bottle and the stuff is amazing. If that alone doesn't work the first time then I spray it again and soak the clothes in water with Clorox 2 overnight. I haven't had to throw out any clothes from my two year old in a long time. :o) Hope this helps!

The only spray on stain remover I use is Oxy Clean, it is a blue bottle with a yellow nozzle and can be found at Walmart in the laundry aisle, this has got stains out of clothes for me, even when I have missed them and put them through the dryer, and sometimes I have had to treat them more than once. Has worked on nose bleed stains, chocolate ice cream and also marinara sauce! Good luck!

there is a bar of laundry soap in the ethnic section of the grocery store called lirio. it is yello and cost about $0.75. It is from mexico and is AMAZING. get the pants wet, rub together and use a table knife and scrape at the stain, scrape a little soap on the knife and work on the stain some more. when its out, send it thru the wash again. this works on everything i have ever tried (even stains fron that time of the month). you do need to use some elbow grease and might hae to retreat it after washing agian, but its never failed me yet.

I've used something called De-Solv-It I think I got it at Wal Mart. I use it on anything with a greasy base and it works great. Even on washed chap stick. My husband does this all the time. I never discovered it until after they were dry. It's kinda stinky so you may have to wash them again to get the smell out, unless you use a good fabric softener.

I have used Greased Lighting on many different stains with great success. You can get it at Dollar General or Wal-Mart

Try oxi-clean or some other non-chlorine type of "oxygenated" stain fighter and let set 2-5 minutes then wash in cold water. I have tried this with my kids' clothes and have been really happy with the results.

Try a cleaner called Awsome you can get it at dollar tree I 've used it for everything the only thing that I've found that it won't get out is mustard. Good luck!
