My older DS just got green dry erase marker on my light tan glider chair! Anyone have any ideas what to use?...i love this chair.
I used this stuff called TUFF STUFF that i picked up at Target. Its a foam cleaner that can be used on fabrics, carpet or even vinyl. My daughter wrote on my couch with a black sharpie marker and i sprayed it on the stain and let it sit for for about 1 min and i took a damp cloth and wiped it off. It tooke a couple of times but its gone now...good luck and let me know how you make out.
We always use Woolite Oxy Deep.
I have all shades of tan furniture and carpets and 3 boys who find ways to stain it. So far, it has worked easily and quickly on everything including dry erase marker.
Real simple magazine has an awesome chart on cleaning out stains.
But I didn't see anything for dry erase markers.

I work for a car care product distributor and we have a product called "Instant Out". This stuff will actually get sharpy marker stains out of almost any fabric. Works great.
It is $8.95 for a 18oz aerosol can. Of course, if you purchase it, try it on the under side of your ottoman just to be sure that it doesn't have any adverse reaction. I have personally used it on carpet both dark and light colored.

i had that happen to me a few times between spit up and some veggies getting on there and i just either took the cover off if possible and washed it but the back doesnt come off of the glider so i just took some shout to it and it took the stain right out and the stain was on there for like a week too!

Try getting some Grease Lightning, spray it on and let it penetrate then lightly scrub it and finally blot it with a clean damp cloth. You may have to do it a few times, but it should work. If that doesn't do the trick then pick up Shout Advantage, spray it on, rub it in, let it sit, then make a solution of laundry detergent and water and wash the stain, then rinse it as best you can. Hope one of these works for you. I use the Grease Lightning on everything but wood and love it, it has taken out stains that have been in clothing for years. Let me know how you make out.

It may be hard to try in a hidden area of the material first, but I have found rubbing alcohol works great on a "Sharpie" permanent marker when it doesn't belong somewhere. I would give it a try---Good Luck! K.
try a "magic eraser" type of product. Wet the eraser sponge, wipe, then vacuum up the crumbled pieces of sponge, & let it dry.
OxyClean--they sell a powder form of that stuff. It's amazing. Blot clean. Most, if not all, of the stain should come out. Good luck!

Try soap and water and scrubbing first. Make sure you blot it dry really well or you'll be left with a water mark.

Is it a Fabric or Leather chair? For Leather, use hairspray...no kidding...just buy a generic non perfume hair spray, use lightly, and then wipe off with a damp cloth.
