Stain on New Couch

I need help to get rid of a wax stain on our new microfiber couch. I had a scentzy candle melting near our couch, while I was babysitting the neighbors kid. I kept telling him to leave it alone and low and behold, I left the room and he dumped it all over our couch. I got most of the wax out of the couch but you can still see where the wax was. Is there anything I can do it get rid of it? I used the iron and a paper sack to get rid of the wax, and ended up having spots the the couch change color. I am still really upset about this and would at least like to get rid of the wax marks, on the couch, so I quit looking at it every time I come into the room. Any advice would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

I use Spot Shot and Oxy. The Spot Shot is in a blue bottle and gets many types of stains out for me. I also use Oxy Clean. You dilute the oxy in tempid water and use a clean wash cloth to apply gently. I had the red wax on my cream carpet and the warm iron trick worked great. I am so sorry to hear about the bad luck with that. There is also something called Goof Off, in a yellow can, it smells auful but also gets rough stains out, like crayons and such. I wish you luck! I have also heard really good things about the solumel that another lady mentioned in previous advice.

All I can say is you are very lucky he didn't burn down the house. I don't have candles in my home for numerous reasons. Not to chastize you but if all you have to deal with is wax, you are lucky. Candles left unattended are huge risk factors in home fires. Can you tell I work for a fireman?

I would call the furniture company you bought the couch from and ask. Also you can go to Ask.com and query wax stains on fabric and maybe give you ideas.
You may have to order special dye too to match the rest of your sofa to give it the color back.
Ice to me has always gotten wax out before I had kids.
I am just way too nervous about forgetting a candle, a child burning themselves or wax being dumped.

Sol-U-Mel or PreSpot work great for wax stains! I had a friend who had the exact same situation and she used PreSpot and it came right out! Sol-U-Mel would work also...I've used this to get get outta my girls hair, tar and wine outta my carpet and permanent marker off the cupboards! You can't get it in the stores, and I don't sell it, however I can show you how to get it direct from the Manufacture and save 30-40% off Retail! Let me know how I can help!

Good Luck!

I don't really have any better suggestion on the stain removal than you've already gotten, but wanted to say I'm with Deb K. on being happy nothing worse happened. You obviously told this little guy to leave the candle alone, but he obviously didn't listen. Really lucky one of your girls wasn't in range of the hot wax, or that he didn't trip over the cord, fall and break the container and someone get cut. Kids are soooo curious and boys just seem to want to mess with the dangerous things, can't wait for us to leave them alone with it. Just goes to show us, they aren't out of harm's way when they grow out of toddlerhood! good luck with future babysitting (hide the scissors!)

Try a little OxyClean. Make a paste of it with a little water and scrub it with a toothbrush.

We use products in our home that are safe and very effective. We don't buy them at a grocery or super market however, they are delivered to us at our home whenever we want to shop. The product Solumel has saved our family much money from paint on carpets, fingernail polish on walls & tables, paint & stains on clothes, mold under tile, nasty smells that occur with two dogs and so much more. You can get information from gotgreennow.fourpointmoms.com These products cost 1/4 the price of any cleaner at the store too.
