Can anyone recommend a good stain remover which is safe to be used for infants clothes? I leave my son without his diapers for sometime during the day. I am finding it difficult to remove the poop stains from the clothes that I use while airing him out.Any suggestions. Thanks!

To add to the sun business--if you put a little lemon juice on the stain before putting the item n the sun, that helps too (OK for whites, maybe not colors). Also, it somehow seems to help to lay it on the grass.

I've had good luck with Dreft stain spray. It works very well if you get to the stain right away. I've gotten chocolate out of clothes with it.
I like Dreft spray. It works great, especially if you get the stain while it is pretty fresh.

Simple Green All-Purpose cleaner works AMAZINGLY well on stains. I use it to wash cloth diapers and we have no stains. Just spray on the stain, let sit for 5-10 minutes and wash like normal.
oxyclean is the best, soak clothes during the night in the water and oxyclean powder, its like magic.

I always used Totally Toddler when my kids were infants. It worked great!
Most of what has been recommended so far is not nontoxic. Shaklee's laundry products are all safe and nontoxic. Their Nature Bright is fantastic at removing stains. The products are also concentrated so they are much less expensive per load than products at the store.

I swear by Oxyclean in the spray form. (I'm sure the other forms are good too.) The trick is to spray it, then leave it until you see the area either change color or the stain disappear altogether. I used to just spray and toss into the washer - didn't work. But if you spray in the evening after taking off the kids' clothes and let it sit until laundry day, you'll be set. I've used this technique for poop spots on DD's reusable swim diaper and never had any poop stains.
I've also had luck with stain sticks (use more for grass and greasy stains) or moistening cloth and rubbing normal detergent in (use more for ground in dirt).
In terms of cloth diapers, whenever my diapers would get poop on them, I'd immediately use laundry soap (actually Woolite) and water and scrub at the spot, then let sit until normal washing day. Never had any problems with staining.

I had that problem all the time, too! I have tried several different things including the Dreft stain removal and Shout (though I would always wash it at least twice after to get all the harsh chemicals out). What I found works best was the Baby Oxyclean. I know you can buy it at both Target and BabiesRUs, though I'm sure you can find it elsewhere. It has always come out for M. if I rinsed the stain immediately (or as soon as I get home if we were out), squeeze out all the excess water, spray the Baby Oxyclean on it, then scrub it in with a tooth brush. I usually let it sit for at least an hour.
The only thing I would watch out for is make sure it doesn't dry on white clothes. One time I was treating a cute white onesie and forgot about it. When I went to do laundry two days later, it was dried and had turned it yellow. That has only happened once, though, and it was because I was neglectful. Otherwise, I highly recommend it!
I find that Shaklee's Fresh Laundry mixed with Shaklee's Nature Bright gets just about everything out!

Dreft Stain Remover!
I use a stain remover that has Resolve in it. I use it on all of our clothes, adults and babies alike. It removes everything from blood to grass stain. Another good one is Zout. Give those a try! I've even used both products on stains that have set for over a week and they still come out.
I've had some success with oxyclean stain remover, but the best way is to dry them in the sun. I dry my cloth diapers in the sun and it naturally sanitizes and bleaches the stain out!

If the clothes are white, I always used No More Baby Stains, which I purchased at Once Upon A Child consignment stores. They have a product for colors, but I don't think it worked as well as the formula for whites. For general pre-treating of stains, I like BIZ. Put some BIZ powder in a bowl or ice cream bucket, add warm water to activate and add the clothes. Soak for 20 min. or more, then launder as usual. (You can buy it at Target.)
