Stainless Appliances

What do you moms use to clean your stainless appliances? My 4 year old is so proud of herself because she can finally reach the water dispenser on the refrigerator. I love how she is able to help herself when she wants a glass of water; however, she leaves finger prints and water marks all over the refrigerator. I am using Zep to clean the area.It does a good job of removing the finger prints, but the water marks are still there. It also has a strong smell and I don't like the idea of using this product all the time. I would love to know if anyone knows of a better product to use.

There is stainless steel and than there is the look of stainless steel. On my stove which is true stainless I use stainless steel cleaner. I buy it at Walmart in an aerosol can. The brand starts with a W. My refrigerator is faux stainless and I LOVE it. I can use regular Windex and I don't have to worry about going with the grain. Wish I would have known the difference before buying the range...

We just got stainless appliances and I hate the mess so much! Have tried a number of products and nothing works well without leaving streaks. Pledge MultiSurface is decent, but still leaves a bit of a haze.

My mom uses WD40. Yep takes all the fingerprints away. There are also some stainless cleansers that are really good. With a four year old around I would look into something that is kid friendly.

I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle. It's cheap and environmentally friendly.

My husband turned me on to WD-40 with a microfiber towel. I think it stinks, so I tend to use the stainless cleaner with the microfiber towel when I am going to have company or I can't open things up to air it out. I think the micorfiber towel is the key in most cases, however, the wd-40 is amazing!

I use the stainless steel wipes in a pop up container. Go over the fridge once with a slightly soapy sponge. Then use the wipe. Works great! Weiman makes them as do others. They are all good.

have you ever tried baking soda.? It will clean about everything. Some things you need to add a little vinegar.. I clean my sink with that and it is a sparklie brown and it makes it shine..It will also make the microwave and frig doors shine. I read about it on the internet and there is not much that it will not do it. I have one of those flat stove tops that is electric and there are not many things you can use to clean those.I wish I would have reseached it before I got it and I wouldn't have scratch marks on it. If only I would have used baking soda on it when I first got it it would have been fine. Here I go on and on and no I am not a baking soda sales person, just an old lady that is still learning at 73 years old,.please let me know how it works for you . Try the good ole internet. sincerely R.

Praise your dd for being able to get her own and then let her know now that she is bigenough step 2 is to wipe off your spill. Keep a towel where she can reach so she can help you.

Hubby uses stainless steel cleaner on surfaces my kids don't touch. For refrigerator handles, dishwasher handles, etc. I sprinkle baking soda on a paper towel, spray vinegar on the towel until wet and wipe the surfaces with it. If you have hard water stain, spray vinegar on it, let sit for five minutes and wipe. Looks as good as using the stainless steel cleaner and no toxic chemicals.
