My 7 month old just started eatting baby food about a month ago, we tried starting when she was 3 mos but after trying we found out that she is allergic to rice...needless to say I was hesitant to try more foods for a while. She is eating good now, no rice ingredients, but seems to be a great chewer too. So my question is, she has had 5 different kinds of baby food stage 2, I tried a teething cookie with her the other day she seemed to chew well... when would you start finger foods and what would you suggest to start with?
No rice, no rice flour foods which is in puffs, and most made baby finger store bought items

What can I do next?

If she seems ready, then try it. Go with small pieces of soft cooked veggies. My little ones really liked green beans and carrots as their first foods - both cooked very soft, but in pieces that they could pick up themselves.

I like the happy baby yogert drops. My 6 month old has been eating those for a while and has had no issues. She's always been a good chewer!

It depends on the baby on when you should start finger foods. If she seems ready for it, then dive right in. I remember starting with banana since it was so mushy. Then I'd even bake sweet potatoes, let them cool, dice them up for finger foods...super simple to freeze for a quick veggie too. She's got plenty of time to eat finger foods too, so it wouldn't be a bad thing to expose her to more stage 2 foods first. :)

PS-A friend of mine's baby started off with a rice allergy but it faded away in the first year. I don't know if you've tried again, but may be worth it every now and then.
