Lemon worked for me...lemon drops were the best and lemonade was second best. I was seriously worried about my teeth and all the acid. But as long as I had lemon I was golden.
I ate lemon drops all day long.
I'm 8 weeks along, as of yesterday:) But I'm feeling a steady sickness from morning to night. I heard about some suckers that may help... has anyone heard of these or have any hidden secrets? I have 1/2 a pb sandwich before I even get out of bed, and I also have a B6 the night before. Help.
My husband is so thankful I found this website! You ladies are more than helpful! We're going on a "stop sickness date" this evening!

LOVED them... Preggie Pops! I have found them at Babies R Us and USA Baby. I had "morning" sickness every day through my whole pregnancy those suckers worked wonders for me.
Also I found the a few saltines and hlaf a glass of real ginger ale helped right before I got out of bed. The less you sit up the better, only sit up as much as needed to not spill the drink all over you :) Through out the day I was always snacking, if my stomach got too empty I would be sick, so nuts, dried fruits, fruit bars were always in my purse, car and house so I could always have something to snack on at a moments notice.
Yep...Preggie Pops!! You can buy 'em at Babies R Us/Toys R Us or look them up online. I lived on them! I too suffered the terrible nausea from sun up to sun down.......Congrats and Best wishes.
Is there a homeopathic practitioner in your area that you could visit? I was sick for 26 weeks with my first two pregnancies. With my third, I saw a homeopathic nurse in the area, took a remedy and my sickness was gone at 10 weeks! She recommended phosphorous to me but it is very person specific. I had to take just a tiny bit (they are like sprinkles) that afternoon, that evening and in the morning. This pregnancy has been my easiest so far because of it-- more energy and no vomiting. I was very skeptical at first but figured it couldn't hurt. I'm so glad I tried it!
Preggie pops and ginger ale. I dont know if they have this brand of ginger ale sold in your area...It is called Outragoues Ginger ale. It is sold under Natural Brew...a Product of smuckers. It has the best taste EVER. I hated Ginger ale. I was at fred meyer/kroger though one day, in the natural section and came across it. I dont know what got me to buy it...I have never turned back though. It has taken place of my sodas everyday. It has also made tummy issues so much better to live through. SO that is my vote.
Try the acupressure wrist bands. You can wear them all day under your sleeves. They really helped me a lot. I think you can find them in pregnancy stores now. You used to find them only in travel stores.
Morning sickness is the pits! Were you taking any medication that you were told to stop taking when you found out you were pregnant? When I was pregnant with my son, I was taking a migraine preventative I had to stop taking because it was a class C drug; the withdrawal made morning sickness a million times worse.
What worked for me was nibbling on Saltines throughout the day and drinking luke warm 7 up or sprite. Good luck! If it doesn't get better, your doctor can prescribe you a medication to help with the nausea, but DON'T take over the counters w/o consulting him.
Sea bands saved my life! I was nauseous and vomitting 24/7 for almost my entire pregnancy if I took them off. They are like sweat bands with a button on the inside that applies accupressure to just the right spot, and they work like a charm! You can buy them in pharmacies next to the sea sickness pills. Also - don't forget the ginger ale and saltiness crackers. I also found it helpful to get soft tortillas and give one side a little spray with nonstick spray, toss it in a skillet, add some cheese, fold in half and grill like a grilled cheese sandwich, flip, remove from heat and let stand a few seconds the slice in wedges with a pizza cutter. The tortillas have folic acid in them....who knew? That little sandwich was just the right size snack to help hold nausea at bay too! Good luck!
My friend could get rid of the nausea by smelling a nectarine.
2 home remedies:
1) Can sip ginger tea. Put a peeled slice of fresh ginger root in hot water and sip.
2) My personal favorite - A wonderful, safe, tasty home remedy for morning sickness and motion sickness is:
2 parts ginger - grated fresh ginger root or ginger powder
1 part brown sugar
Ghee (clarified butter) (NOT butter)
Mix ginger and brown sugar together.
Add ghee last, just enough to make into a paste and stick the ginger and brown sugar together.
Make enough to put into a jar. Refrigerate.
Eat a teaspoon or tablespoon full as needed.
Option: roll into teaspoon or tablespoon sized balls and refrigerate.
Refrigeration just keeps the ghee from melting. Otherwise, no refrigeration needed.
The only side effect in some people (doesn't do this to everyone) is it reduces or eliminates constipation - so if it takes away the constipation too much, reduce the amount or frequency.
The ginger will perk up your digestion, and reduce or eliminate the nausea. It tastes good, and is safe (non-toxic) for pregnant people and children.
Hope you feel better soon!
preggie pops, and they also have the hard candy versions (same thing but no stick). Also, you can drink REAL ginger ale, eat ginger snaps, and if you go to sprouts or central market or a place with natural foods, you can usually find some ginger candy or something like that to help. Babies R Us and Toys R Us has a whole aisle dedicated to this. OH and Target and GNC and other natural food stores have tea that is for sickness. I haven't tried it but I did use their Mother's Milk tea when I was nursing. I think the brand is called Traditional Medicinal, and you can find it with all the other teas. good luck
Something you might keep in mind if none of the other remedies work for you is Unisom. It was the only thing that helped with my nausea, take one tablet before bed, half a tablet in the morning - that totally got rid of my nausea. It will make you a little sleepy, but it was better than throwing up for me :-) And it is safe, recommended to me by a nurse midwife.
I had morning sickness 24 hours a day with my child. The only thing that helped me was Saltine crackers all day long. I went through box upon box of those things and washed them down with diet ginger ale. Those things got me through. If I waited till I was hungry to eat I was more nauseous if I ate too much I was nauseous. I just ate a few crackers and had some ginger ale every half hour to an hour and that helped. The morning sickness didn't go away with this method but it really cut back on that nauseous feeling.
Bless your heart! I had to be prescribed phenegren to help me. It didn't take it away completely but I could at least function. I tried the suckers but they just made me have more spit in my mouth which. Made me want to puke even more! Eat, eat, eat! As long as I nibbled on something I could. Get thru the day. Hope you feel better!
