Go see a DR!!!! I hate seeing a dr for myself personally but this isnt food poisoning since you're not vomiting and with a fever it sounds serious - anything with a fever.... Go see a dr woman!!
I agree it sounds like some sort of stone. Could be appendicitis also.
Good luck!

Doctor? There are numerous possibilities but one that comes to mind is a partial bowel obstruction. The loose stool is what can seep around it.

I had some of the same problems and was told it was Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I started taking fiber regularly and I feel great now. For women in their 20's, IBS can start and is usually triggered by hormones (mine was usually worse the week before my period.) I also had a lot of ovary pain, was told it was cysts, but after starting the fiber supplement, that pain went away, too. When I was first dealing w/ IBS, I had BMs like once a day with no relief, either. It builds up and increasing fiber is the only way to get rid of all that's built up. good luck!

Seeing a doctor to find out what's wrong is a great idea. What you're describing sounds like some digestive problems I once had - that does not mean you're going through the same thing.
My problem was poor digestion, nothing real serious/life threatening. What I did was change my diet and restore the depleted good bacteria and enzymes in my gut and colon. The probiotc (to restore bacteria/enzymes) that I use today are especially good (beware: they are not all created equal). I wrote an article about it in my blog recently that you may find helpful in making a decision: http://aromatherapy4u.wordpress.com/2008/08/12/fos-prebio...
What I also did that helped was cut out ALL processed foods, ate more veggies (they have enzymes that our bodies need as long as we don't cook them to death!), no artificial sweeteners or fake foods either.
Here is a link to an article in the NY Times that is SO right on the money. If we can learn from this and apply what Michael Pollan is saying... wow, we would be so much more healthy individually and as a country. I started practicing what he's talking about maybe 20 years ago... he is so right on target...
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/28/magazine/28nutritionism...
Also, did you know... we're suppose to have one bowel movement for every meal we consume? For instance, eat once a day, have one BM. Eat 3 meals, have 3 BM's. That is normal. This is not to say what you're experiencing is normal, because it's not. I just thought I should mention it because too many people don't know what's normal any longer because the foods (the junk sold as food I should say) does NOT keep us healthy, normal or regular.
Take good care!

Definately see a doctor immediately. Could be many things from appendix to kidney infection, on and on. We all hope it is just a virus but best to have a licensed health professional diagnose it. If it turns out to be appendix, it could burst and that is dangerous. My son had appendicitis when he was 15 and it started with a feeling of gas and extreme pain like trapped gas. Never did I think he had appendicitis until the doctor diagnosed it. I don't run to the doctor for stuff usually, but you need to have this checked.

Hi E.-
This could be a number of things. Did you eat something or somewhere that might have contamination like salmonella or food poisoning? Try some Imodium, but if you don't have relief in a day, I would recommend calling your primary doctor, you actually probably should anyway. You may need a colonoscopy to see what's going on. In the mean time, if you're still having loose BM then make sure you replace your electrolytes by drinking gatorade, something that contains sodium and potassium and calories, this is what you lose when you have diarrhea. If you can't keep food down or it upsets your stomach, eat plain foods like plain crackers or rice. Don't eat anything with roughage as this could upset your bowels. But you should definitely call your doctor.
Good luck, P.

E. you may want to go see your doc b/c you may have a stomach bacteria called H. Pylori I work at a doc office I am a medical asst. and this is a common thing it can be detected by a simple blood test. a friend of mine had h. pylori a couple of months ago and had very similar symptoms she had very intense pains as you are and sweating, except when she started the pain she had to go to the bathroom right then and would start sweating raelly bad but the BM's were not like diahrea. but this bacteria causes pain in the abdomen and it could radiate to the back aslo. I have seen lots of patients with this and it can be treated with severl antibiotics and by taking prevacid all of the meds will be taken daily I think its for 2 weeks. and the only way to treat the h. pylori is with the combination of drugs it is also called a prev pak if you do infact have this. or it may simply be a virus that may needs to run its course but I would highly recomend that you see your docx b/c if it is H. pylori it will not go away on its own it will only get worse. well good luck and I hope that you get better soon I know when my friend was sick with it she was misrable and didnt find out about it until 2 months after symptoms started b/c she thought that she had a stomach flu. good luck let me know if you need anything.

Hello- sorry to hear you're in such pain! I have some experience with health & nutrition as well as stomach and intestinal problems. My youngest son was born at 25 weeks and has had numerous surgeries and many problems with his stomach and intestines. The main thing that helped him is called probiotics. You can get this is at Whole Foods in Cool Springs. It's called 'Bio-K' and it's in the refrig. section near the vitamins. It puts all the good bacteria back in your stomach/intestines and helps get rid of the bad. My premmie baby (now 5 yrs) used to lay on the floor and writhe in pain! After seeing a gastroenterologist and taking these probiotics (Bio-K) he made a HUGE turnaround. It comes in a six pack of small bottles, and you should start of with one a day & break it up into 1/2 morning, 1/2 at night. I promise this is the truth, it's been tested and I know it works. Bio-K is like a liquid acidopholis (like in yogurt) that you can put into your yogurt in the morning or into a smoothie and you won't even taste it - it's almost tasteless but works like a small miracle!! Please try it - and if you don't believe me, ask the people at Whole Foods and they'll tell you about what it does, too. Hope this helps. I would see the gastoenterologist, too if you're very concerned.

Sounds like you have just describes ur period, if ur not expecting it you might have a stomach virus... Worse case you could have like little cyst on ur ovary thats what happened to me they go away on there own. But you def. wanna get a pelvic exam to rule out anything more serious such as endemitriosis and things of that nature I am sure your body is changing alot right now too mine went through hell when I was in my early 20's. if it is not getting worse I would wait a day to see if it passes but if it is unbearable go check out an urgent care.

I don't really think it is this, but I thought I would respond anyway. I ended up with gallstones after the birth of my first child. Pregnancy can cause this. The only reason I mention it is that the pain I had did have that wrap around effect. It started it the front and then felt like someone was giving me a big bear hug all the way around. When I had "an attack" I would sweat a lot but have no fever. Usually I would end up throwing up and feel better. No matter what it is, I would contact your doctor to check it out. Better to know! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Hello E.
It could be your colon if it is more to the left side. I would recommend going to a doctor. If left untreated it could be more erious. My late husband had similar problems & his colon ruptured. I always say if it isn't a normal feeling the better safe than sorry. Good luck

Hi E.,
I would suggest going to the doctor. It may not be anything but to have them check out the source of the pain would be very important. It could be some minor bowel infection. I hope you feel better soon.

I am not sure whether this would be it or not but there is a gastrointestinal virus going through the schools in this area.
It could possibly be it. P.S. I would not be too concerned other than safeguarding every one else from getting it.
Just take something for the pain and let the diarrhea run it's course. It is trying to rid your body of the bacteria that is causing the virus. Drink lots of fluid.
BUT, if it continues for about 2 or 3 days, go see a doctor
I hope that you feel better soon,

Well, if u don't think it is viral, you'd better see a doctor. I am one that hates to take the time, spend the money, etc... to find out I have a virus they can't do anything about! But your pain sounds bad... Something no one else mentioned yet, but that I had about 18 months ago was a kidney stone. I'd never had them before, but it was horrible! I normally go thru the loose bowels thing, so if I had that, I didn't notice a difference. But the pain started like really bad gas pain low in my tummy and then several days later, I would get bad back cramps too. This went on for weeks, gradually getting worse until the throwing up started with it. But finally it was excruciating every 20-30 minutes, with the vomiting. My hubby had to rush me to the ER in the middle of the night where they gave me morphine, which helped for an hour or so... After scanning me they saw the stone. That ended up being the worst of the pain, so it had passed thru but took another week or so to get all the way out. If that is what you have, you may be in for a long bout of irregular pain. But if is this bad and this sudden, it could be worse... Don't take chances!
God Bless,
A.

Hi E.,
sounds like you might have a UTI (urinary tract infection) they have tests kits at the pharmacy now so you can test for it. It will only get worse. Best to get it checked out if pain continues or gets worse. UTIs can be in your kidneys in a few days of ignoring it or waiting for relief.
I have had a lot of UTIs and you don't always have a fever. How about pain when you pee? Not always there either. don't wait much longer.

I briefly read the other post and E., it sounds a lot like gallstones, YOU need MEDICAL ATTENTION ASAP. If they have to do an emergency then they will cut you wide open, but if you seek the medical attention they may be able to do it laproscopic surgery which is an outpatient procedure.

Dear E.,
The majority of the responses have instructed you to go see a doctor. I agree. Do not hesitate!!!
Appendicitis, cholecystitis (gall bladder), ruptured and obstructed bowels, and kidney issues have been mentioned. Those are very serious problems. Another one not mentioned is an ectopic pregnancy. Sweating with no fever is a sign that something could be terribly wrong.
Please, most of us want you to go to the emergency room now. Please let us know what happens.
Good luck!
