Hi moms,
I'm trying to find a website where I can dump in my daughters current mastered sight words, and have it make up a few stories for her to read. I don't want her board with the same story or worse, memorizing the only story I manage to make up from her list. Is there such a thing? Thanks! S.

Wow, I want to thank you for asking this question. I read the responses and am elated at the resources I can use for my daugther.
Anyway, I didn't have a good resource to suggest but I just thought that maybe since you go to college you might get one of the teachers in the English department to make their class write stories for you for a grade. Maybe the creative writing class or the education majors.

I don't know of a specific website that does that but one that I really like and helps your kiddos to read is www.starfall.com. On this site, if you don't know the word, you can click on it and it will tell you the word by sounding out the parts and highlighting it. I think its great. It is also organized so you can work with one skill at time if you want to.

I highly recommend a website called edhelper.com. There is a yearly fee, but since you are homeschooling, it would probably be a useful resource. I think that it is $25 a year. My students loved it when I would use their words to create stories!

I do not know a specific site that will do that, but the best site Iknow of for using basic sight words and early reading is called www.starfall.com. I teach elem and our kindergarten and first teachers love it. It has a ton of great stuff.

There is a great website that I use to use when I was a teacher. It doesnt do that exact thing, but has great printable stories with sight words and activites that are leveled. It does cost, but I dont think it is much if you are a homeschooler or an individual. It is www.readingatoz.com. Check it out. I taught at a Charter school that didnt have much in the way of resources and this is what I used to supplement my reading program.
