Kaboom. Definitely. I've tried everything & this is what works best.
We had a frosted glass shower door installed in the master bathroom when we moved into our house about a year and a half ago. Over time, the shower door has gotten white streaks on it. I don't know what caused it (soap scum, limescale, calcium???)...or how to get rid of it. We use a squeegee to wipe the water down after each shower, but still the streaks! I've spent the last few days trying various cleaning methods: vinegar (diluted and straight), lemon oil, dish soap, Bon Ami, glass-top stove cleaner, and even resorted to trying Limeaway and Kaboom (which, after I sprayed it on noticed it said NOT to use on frosted glass. Fortunately it doesn't appear to have caused any additional problems). And I've tried using them all with a scrubby sponge and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Nothing has worked. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my shower door looking like new? I don't want to keep spending money on things that don't work!
Thank you for all of your suggestions! I tried them all...but none of them worked. I was resigned to have a streaky glass shower door, but then found something in the back of my cabinet that I've had for years. This little Krazy Kloth actually worked better than anything else. I'm going to have to try to find more of these things! Thanks again for all your help. Even though none of the recommendations worked, I'm so glad to have such a huge pool of knowledge to pull from!

Hi P.,
Kaboom..it works great! I have used CLR before, but I find Kaboom will pretty much take anything off and it smells good too! I wouldn't buy anything else. :) Between cleanings, we use the scrubby bubbles shower sprayer. It sure helps to reduce the number of heavy duty cleanings.
Good Luck and Happy Cleaning!
Hi P..
Our master shower is clear glass, but I use scrubbing bubbles and a sponge that is made out of the tutu material. It works wonders. Also use an oxox squeegie daily after use. Good luck.
I use "Comet Liquid Bathroom cleaner/disinfects/dissolves soap scum and hard water film"..it is a white bottle w/ a kelly green sprayer and green label. You can't find it everyplace - hit or miss - but, I know CVS carries it. I use it on everything in my bathrooms. It does streak a bit so using maybe a windex after (or vinegar) may be helpful.
I'm surprised those Mr. Clean Sponges didn't work. I love those things!
P.,
I have not had shower doors in a few years, but try this:
wipe them with a cloth dipped in a solution of 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1 cup ammonia, and 1/4 cup baking soda mixed in 1 gallon (3.8) liters warm water.
another one I have tried: Liquid fabric softener
Mix 1 part softener into 4 parts water and store in a squirt bottle. Apply to a clean cloth, wipe the surface and then polish with a dry cloth. or you could store it in a dishliquid bottle.
also try wiping the soap scum from the shower door(glass) with a used dryer fabric softener sheet.
I have had luck with all of these methods in the past.
I am assuming it depends on the degree of the soap scum, limescale, calcium.
Good luck!

Hi P.,
I use arm and hammer (yellow bottle-2.40) or target brand (2.00) daily shower door cleaner. Make sure it is the daily one that does not need rinsing. We spray after showering, walk away and the doors are always streak free and do not look like they need cleaning. You may need to use it a few times but it should start working soon.
Good luck,
V.
On one of those "sell your home" shows, they also recommended diluted muriatic acid (something like 10 parts water to 1 part acid).
When we had shower doors, I always used CLR to get rid of the soap scum streaks. It is also caused by hard water. I just poured some in a bucket of water and wiped down the doors. Came out clean every time.
I would try some CLR or Bar Keepers Friend
