My pregnancy left me with some pretty bad stretch marks on my stomach that after ten months are still pretty bad.
I want to try the stri-vectin cream because I have heard great things about it, but I don't want to waste $100!!
Has anyone tried anything that helped reduce the appearence of their stretch marks?
I would also be open to any natural remedies!

yes its called CARACOL CREAM i have as well pretty bad stretch marks from the pregnancy as well, i only tried a cream once that reduced them to more than 60 percent. i have not bought some more cause it is 60 dollars a bottle and its tiny. it will only last you like 2 weeks. and also i cannot find it cheaper anywhere else i have a little economic problem but as soon as i recover i will buy it again. and the good thing about the cream it doesn't matter how long you have had the stretch marks for it will still reduce them. i used it 3 months after my pregnancy for two weeks i can just imagine how my stomach would look like if i had used it more often. and i am so excited to get it sooon. well i hope my chit chat didn't bore you and i hope it helped.

Dermactin from Sally Beauty is supposedly very similar to Strivectin. I used to know the buyer for Sally skincare and she gave me a bunch of it to use with my first pregnancy. It did great. I am using it again this time around. You should give it a try.

You may want to give Bio Oil a try. I've used it for the past couple of months, and I'm not positive but I think I can see a difference in my 7 year old stretch marks. (Should have taken before pics lol) It moisturizes nicely, so maybe that's why the stretch marks look better. It's worth a try though; much cheaper than stri-vectin and readily available at the drug store.

Good luck!

A., I've used Strix-aderm, which by the name I'm sure is similar to the Stri-Vectin and I love it. It is pricey too at $60 or $70 a tube, but it lasts forever. I had really bad stretch marks from my pregnancy 9 months ago and it lightened them up and smoothed them out. You use like a dime size amount because it's really concentrated and apply it in the morning and night. One of mine that was really dark purple and long is hardly visible now. I'm sure that my stomach would look much better if I was more stringent in applying it, but I am a verifiable source that it does work! It's the best thing that I've found. You can find it at Vitamin World if you've got one of those where you live and sign up for their mailing list to where it sends you discount coupons periodically up to 50% off. Give it a try I promise you won't be disappointed, I wasn't.

Stri Vectin is very good. It may not take them all away, but it will surely lighten and smooth some of it out. Before you buy it, spend about 10 days applying Vitamin E oil to the area every morning and night. This will prepare your skin so that you get the best results from the StriVectin. My friend who had very bad dark stretch marks, was able to almost diminish them completely using this method.

When I was pregnant, I used plain ol Vaseline and only had 2 little stretch marks by my belly button. One disappeared into my belly button and the other I diminished with Vitamin E oil.

Mama Mio is the best!!! It was designed just for women in pregnancy and beyond, by women going through the problems. Here's the website.

I would try the ER emergency repair cream, and the "boob tube" for your chest. I use the tummy rub oil everyday for everything, and it feels great! The Wonderful balm is perfect as a hand/foot cream, and for cuticles. Did i say i love this stuff?

Try the Mary Kay Cell-u-Shape system. My sister in law had horrible stretch marks and they have lightened considerably since she started using the product. I also used the Mary Kay TimeWise visibly fit body lotion during my 2 pregnancies (and now my 3rd) and I have zero stretch marks. The Cell-u-Shape system is $55 and will last 2-3 months. If you want more in info check out my website at www.marykay.com/cheer4osu or e-mail me at ____@____.com

Hi A.,

I used to work in the cosmetic Department at Macy's, next to my counter was the display of stri-vectin, I was skeptical about it..In all honesty, I had alot of customers say how wonderful it had worked for them..(fading away deep stretch marks) despite the price! I personally used Palmers, and it worked well, Although I had very little stretch marks. Just a thought! Hope this helps!

A.,

A friend of mine ended up with horrible stretch marks on her stomach, hips, and behind. She began working out and became more toned. This REALLY helped with the appearance of the stretch marks- they became almost completely unnoticeable! I was amazed!! It is not an easy fix, not something that you can buy and apply, but it really did make a huge difference. BTW,her child was about ten years old when she began working out.

I'm using Mederma on my c-section scar and it has lessened the appearance somewhat. It's also supposed to work on stretch marks. Worth trying, it's about 13.47 at walmart for a small tube, don't know the ounces.

I tried a whole bunch of things in my price range, during and after the pregnancy. And I have only found one thing....strech marks STINK! Nothing has helped. The only thing I have noticed is that once I started loosing weight, they dont look as bad but they will never go away unless you go under the knife:) Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!:P

I used Palmers while pregnant and I did not get any stretch marks at all. Best of all it was not that expensive.

I've used the Mary Kay two-product set, and it worked great on my stretch marks. Mine are pretty old and silverish, and when I used it religiously for about two weeks, I couldn't see my own stretch marks! Worth the $55 for me!!! I don't remember what it's called, but any MK rep would know.

I used Palmers. And I think it worked really well. I Remember the nurse in the delivery room commenting on how I had no stretch marks. It's not expensive but it's good. Good Luck!

I have to agree with the previous messages regarding Palmers. I have two children and it seems to have worked pretty well. I also read in a magazine that they will not completely go away because it is the skin that has stretched. You can make them lighter though. So I wouldn't go out spending a ton of money on products that are not likely to work. Palmers is inexpensive and it works well. Just be consistent and you will see results. I also try the soaps along with the lotion too see results faster.

I used Palmer's everyday that I was pregnant, twice a day. And I still got really bad stretch marks, and they were visible for about a year before they started to fade. It's just genetics I guess, but if you find something that works, please let me know!!

I know some women who swear by applying a small amount of vasaline to the area. Personally I just used lotion with Aloe and coco butter. The lotion didn't make them disappear completely, but did help reduce their appearance greatly.

I live off the Mary Kay Time Wise Cellu-shape. It is amazing. I sale Mary Kay, but would use this even if I didn't! Not only does it help with stretch marks, it helps with cellulite.

Palmers is good, but really only works most effectively when pregnant to prevent stretch marks. I used Mederma on mine and while it doesnt completely rid me of them, it did lighten them so they are finer and less noticeable.

I read somewhere that no cream would work to lighten the stretch marks or to make them disappear. It stated that with time, and depending on the individual, it may naturally and progressively lighten up. I would be interested to know the results of women who have tried a cream on half of their stretchmarks and left the other half without the stretchmark cream to see if it really was the cream that made it lighter than before. It's hard to determine which cream is good. I think it's all trial and error because you'll have people who have tried a product and worked or may not have worked for them. Good luck on your decision.

I was fortunate to not have a lot of stretch marks. I was scared of getting them so when i found out I was pregnant 13 yrs ago, I rubbed my belly down daily with vitamin E oil. I did this throughout my pregnancy and beyond.

I had a hysterectomy in 2001 and right our of the hospital, I started using Vitamin E Oil on my scar area. You can hardly see my scar now.

I am a believer in Vitamin E oil. When I was buying it, it was behind the pharmacy counter and you just had to ask for it. It is cheap too!!
