Hello Ladies!
I just gave birth to a baby boy last week and I am very happy! He is so beautiful but my tummy has paid the price... I have some pretty icky stretch marks and I was wondering if anyone out there knows of ANYTHING that I could do to fade their appearance. I know that time will fade them eventually, but it IS the summer and I would love to speed up the process. Thanks for any advice!!

What can I do next?

You've gotten a lot of responses--I am just wondering how they know that their solutions made them go away "faster"? Did they use the stuff on one side but not on the other? If not there's no way to tell it if it helps or not!

I'd say, just get a full-coverage swimsuit and wait. It will probably be cheaper in the long run than all of these treatments, and they will fade on their own.

BTW, mine still don't tan. Sunless tanner will cover them, though.

Hi, I am partial to tea tree oil, but only the high grade you can get from Melaleuca Inc. I am a customer of this great company -- I do all my household shopping with them. No toxic products and I save money.

Melaleuca Oil (tea tree oil) aids in the healing process and is 7 times more penetrating than aloe vera. My kids love it because it gets rid of their cold sores in a couple of days and helps cuts and scrapes heal faster without scaring. Maybe it would help your stretch marks?

L.,

I sell Avon and they have at least one product that I know of that helps with stretch marks. It doesn't work over night, but I was using it and my youngest was 12 yrs old when I started using it and it has faded my away a little bit. Let me know if you want to give it a try and I can get you some.

Hi L.

I am an independent consultant for a health and wellnes co. called Arbonne and there is an anti-aging and skin tightening serum and lotion combination that has amazing results on fading stretch marks and preventing them. I used this set throughout my entire prgnancy day and night and didn't get any stretch marks. I also have a great before and after picture I could send you if you'd like. Let me know if you are interested; the products are truly amazing and only use all natural botanicals, and conatin no dyes, fragrances, animal products, petroleum or mineral oil.

Hope this helps

Hi L.-
I know how you are feeling. I had none until I went in a ended up having a C-Section. Once they pulled my daughter out they all appeared! Anyways I was told GRAPE SEED OIL and VITAMIN E OIL are the best things to help minimize them. You can get the Grape seed oil at any vitamin store or even Sprouts. Good luck

Coconut oil (check health food stores) is wonderful. It's very soothing and helps heal the skin. Also, AVON has a line of products that can help even more. www.youravon.com/ckinstle

I haven't used it myself but, I keep seeing ads for Bio Oil. It says it speeds up the healing process so it will lighten them up a bit faster...? I have used vitamin E for healing scrapes and lessening the appearance scars, it's great. Just vitamin E capsules, pierce the capsule and use it straight or mix w/your regular lotion, a little goes a long way.

2words....COCOA BUTTER. Just slather yourself in it every day and out of the shower. That's what I did when I was pregnant with both of my daughters and it turned out great.

Hi I know how you feel! I got really bad stretch marks from my son who was almost 9 lbs and I was a stick before I got pregnant. My mom bought me this stuff from Avon that actually worked but you have to use the whole bottle over time before they disapear. Its called Re-Fine stretch mark smoother. Its in a purple bottle. I finished that one and now I'm using something called Avon Solutions Super Shape anti- cellulite and stretch mark cream which is ok. The marks are gone in the front and only the really bad one's on my hips are still there. If you dont like Avon try a dermotologist but word of advice get on it fast! The longer you wait the less chance you have of getting rid of them. Good Luck!!
