With my 1st pregnancy, I lucked out and didn't get any stretch marks or stretched skin. I was 21 years old and gained 34 lbs during that pregnancy. Now, 5 years later, I am expecting my second child, and I am wondering whether I will be lucky again. Has anyone out there gotten stretch marks for the 1st time during their second pregnancy? Or should I expect not to get them as long as I don't gain too much weight?

What can I do next?

Hi G., it looks good for you not getting them if you didn't the first time around. The key as you mentioned, is not gaining to much weight. Try for a 20 to 30 pound gain. best of luck.

Well I gained over 40 pounds and i got them because every one else in my family had them, but when I had my second and about to have my third I have not got any more. IF you do get them go buy you some Vitamin E pilss cut them open and rub them on your skin before and after the baby.

I've asked all my girlfriends also and the consensus is that if you don't have stretch marks in the first pregnancy, then you will more than likely NOT get it in your second or third... And vice versa. If you do get stretch marks, start using creams, but sometimes it's inevitable so just try to eat healthy and gain weight in a moderate way.

Good Luck.
