Hello wonderful mothers. I have a 2 year old that I am looking to buy a new stroller for. I'm looking for a lightweight one that is easy to fold and light, taking up little space. My problem is that my daughter is very tall for her age and those cheap $20 umbrella strollers are not big enough for her. I really like the Chicco umbrella one. We did a little test push in ToysRUs and it was a good height for me, foot rest was good for her, and she seemed to sit comfortablly. BUt they didn't have the pattern I liked, and I can't find it anywhere. I would love to have some suggestions on what you like and don't like. Since the Chicco is out of stock, I've decided to shop around. I'm tired of pushing around her big stroller that came with the travel system. I'd love to hear about ease of pushing, foot rests, reclining seats, trays (if they have one), sun shades, and whether or not they seem to get really dirty and are hard to clean.
I don't mind spending a little $ on one, that we both like, but it's always nice to hear what others think as well.
Thanks to everyone

So What Happened?

I really appreciate the responses. I have researched every brand that was mentioned. I think that we are going to go with McClaren. There is a couple very cute girly ones that I really like. They are reasonable, about $100. They sell them at Target, so I think we will go do a test run to make sure it's comfortable then buy one online

R.,
Have you tried the Maclaren? I have only heard GREAT things about it!! And it holds up to 65lbs and is very light weight! My son is 7 mos old and I have the Rock Star Baby which I love but once we go in to an Umbrella stroller I willl be getting a Maclaren. My son is only 7 mos and the lenght of a 15-18 month old so I am assuming I will have the same issues as you!
Good Luck! Oh and I also think that RSB has umbrella's you may want to look them up too....

Hello R.. I haven't personally used the BOB strollers but my cousin, who travels with her two boys, loves them. The boys are older, like 3 and 5 maybe, so I would think they would be big enough. It maybe worth checking out their website. I do think she said they were pricey but well worth it. Also what is the name of your boutique?

I'm going to be looking for a new stroller myself so I can't help with that part, but several moms I know have recommended a place called "A Running Stroller" in Safety Harbor. There were two numbers listed in the phone book for them: ###-###-#### and ###-###-####. They supposedly have a huge selection of strollers, car seats, etc. and are very helpful. They also offer some deals that the big stores don't, like 10% off a Britax car seat if you come pick it up. You might want to check them out, depending on where you live in the county.

Good Luck.

Try a McClaren Stroller. They are expensive but work. My son just turned 4 years old and we have the one that holds up to 80lbs. Because we travel a lot it works great for going through airports and just everyday outings. It does recline and is light weight. The only draw back is that there is no tray. I hope this helps.

I also was in between the Chicco and the Maclaren. I choose the Maclaren, and I have been most happy with it. The have the black mesh one. Very light weight, and my LO does not get hot in it. We "test drove" them at the Babies-R-us. Hope this helps.

I just purchased a jogging stroller...my son is very long at only 4 months and he looks so tiny when he is in it! They normally have adjustable foot rests and inclines to accommodate. I recommend the Baby Jogger brand.

I have the Chicco C5 for my tall 2 year old as well. It is the Adventure(green/beige). Here is the Amazon link and they do have it in stock! Not sure what color you're looking for?

Blake loves it and it is a perfect "umbrella-type" stroller that is easily collapsed and very light weight. Perfect for a quick trip into the mall or grocery, etc... We also have a jogger for long walks, but the Chicco still gets used more often. Good luck!

I don't have a stroller I can talk about from experience. I am looking forward to your responses as my little one gets older! I definitely would like to switch to something like the Chicco. Have you heard of Albeebaby.com? I bought by daughter's carseat there and it was a great deal! Free shipping on orders over $100.

I also saw someone with a Mia Moda Spirito stroller once and I liked that! I liked the way the basket was in the bottom. Seemed a little bigger and more accessible than the Chicco. Looking at the picture I am not sure the footrest is any better, but take a look!

Here is a Chicco at Albeebaby

Be sure to post what you decide on! I would love to know.

The Chicco stroller that is about $60 has multiple patterns on the Babies R Us website. There were several difference solid colors, and I even saw one called "the Seventies" which was a fun dot pattern. If that's the stroller you are looking for, definitely check out the online options. I have the Chicco travel system and bought mine online after I didn't see any colors I liked in the store. Good luck!

I had both a Maclaren and a Combi - I preferred the Combi, but the Maclaren is definitely more sturdy. Both are great umbrella strollers that are worth buying.

I searched all over for a lightweight stroller that had all the features I wanted since we make frequent trips to Cypress Gardens and Disney. I ended up buying a Kolcraft from Kmart that I am thrilled with! I think it is called Kolcraft Lite Sport Lightweight Stroller. If so, this is it - http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_9990000045665111.... It pushes and turns really easily, and folds easily and compactly. It has a removable snack/drink tray for the child (the whole part in front of the child can be opened at one side to get out and in easily or taken completely off with just a clip) and a cup holder for me. It has a nice size canopy and basket. It's everything I wanted!! My daughter is pretty average sized but she is 3. I think that she and my son rode in it together one time at the airport when he got tired (he would have been 5 at the time and she sat on his lap - he did not fit in it well but it was manageable and he is in the 95th percentile so he is tall!) The seat does recline a bit so she can rest if needed. I haven't had a problem with it getting dirty - the fabric is dark, so you won't see much on it. I wasn't looking for something particularly inexpensive, but it was a great bargain too! Good luck!
