I'm in need of a hair stylist in the Aurora/Naperville area with experience dealing with thick, curly, coarse hair! I've had some bad experiences, and lately have just been keeping it one length and putting it in a pony tail a lot. I'd like someone willing to consult with me first to identify a haircut that works with my hair type, face shape, and lifestyle! Thanks for any suggestions.
Thanks everyone! I finally took the plunge and got my hair cut yesterday. I went to Tiffany at Zazu in Naperville and she was great. She really listened to my needs, and helped me find a haircut that was still a pretty drastic change (3 1/2 inches of length gone, plus added some layers), but not so crazy that people would say "OMG, what did you do?"

Same thing very thinck curly hair. I just started going to Julie at Enzo Salon in what I think is technically Oswego. It is the corner of Rt 30 and Douglas Road. After floating around in the area trying to find someone (lot of bad experiences too!) I finally found Julie and she has done a very nice job. She does a great job listening to me and my hair looks better than it has for a long time.
My hair stylist is fabulous, and she works with all different types of hair. And she specializes in working with people with thick, curly, coarse hair. She has worked on several of my friends who have more difficult hair, and she does an amazing job with them.

Zano's on Ogden. Deo he is so AWESOME!!!!!! I have seen him for 7 years now I believe. He take so much time with me every time I see him. Goes threw my hair before he washes it to find out what the problems are and what needs to be changed to help. Afterwards my hair is so much better!!!
Deo trains people. So its funny when I go in I see people there now cutting hair that he has trained.
