I use ORIENTAL TRADING for kids to make crafts. Great prices and ready to go craft kits, however, I'm not sure if you are asking about kits to make or nice crafts to buy from a craft fair.
Looking for cute, neat crafts and sayings for Mother's Day! Anyone been to a craft fair lately? Maybe something caught your eye.
Thanks,

Along with Oriental Trading, if there is a Michaels near you, try there also. We found some great items there for older children attending a baby shower last summer and they were a great hit. There were sets we put together as well as kits we found and they were all on sale so we did not pay much for them. Good luck.
If you like making handmade items like cards or simple scrapbook pages then there are alot of ideas on my website that don't take up too much time but are really cute!

Hi there.
I also like doing crafts when i have the time, but since Mother's Day is aproaching, last year i gave my mom one of those Moms day card found at 7-11, those huge ones, and what i did is a collage of a whole bunch of pictures ( 2x4) all around the card, ( we had just lost my brother (her son) and my dad ( her husband)) so i thought it would be of some sentimental value for her. she just recentely moved to her new place, and when i visited her, to my surprised i noticed she had framed the card in a poster size frame, and looks very nice... It's a thought i have.
Thanks

I found a cute idea from Family Fun Magazine several years ago. You take an inexpensive clock (from Wal Mart, Target, etc) and on the inside face, remove the sheet with the numbers. Replace it with a picture of kids/pets/etc at each of the places the numbers belong. In the middle put "We Love You All The Time". It's an inexpensive gift for grandparents or whoever.
Have you done the used cards craft? I have found many inspirational crafts using old greeting card art and words. You cut out flowers or hearts or what ever you want to compliment some words live: BELIEVE or SHINE or a phrase like: YOU SPARKLE. Then using a frame you can get from thrift stores or $1.00 Store for your sizing or just outline the 3-d picture you've created with laces or ribbons. I use the ribbons and lace within the picture to highlight or frame. Use your imagination and it only gets better. Cards and Fabric. Have Fun
My children and I have a tradition that we started with my first mother's day for my mom. We put a hand print on something as a gift. The first year I put my daughter's hand print on a piece of burlap and framed it. (I did 3, one for my mom, his mom, and my self.) I now have 3 children, and 12 years later it is still the one gift that we all look forward to ~ although it gets tricker each year to find something that all the hands will fit on!! some ideas:
T-Shirts, vases, wood trays, bird houses, stepping stones, hot plates, mugs, plates (self kits or at one of those place that lets you paint and they fire it for you are great), travel bags, the list goes on forever (at least I hope!!).
Just remember that the most important thing is to have fun with whatever ideas you choose :)
I used to have a day care and I would do crafts with the kids. One christmas we took baby food jars. The kids glued a little tree or snowman to the inside of the lid. Then we put glitter and water in the jar. Put some glue around the rim of the jar and put the lid on. Then ribbon. They made a snow globe for thier parents.
I'm part of Riverside Stroller Strides and one of our moms is leading a great project. We gather monthly to do the kids' handprints on squares of material. At the end of the year she will put them all together to make a quilt. Each mom decorated her square with the theme for that month.
I'm sure it can be done on a smaller scale. I can't wait to see the end product.
I'm a Creative Memories consultant and we have a really cute little paper album...it's pretty, simple and makes it really easy to add in some photos or letters and have a great gift.
There's also one geared toward men for Father's Day. I'm doing one of those for my 2 1/2 year old to give to my husband for Father's Day. He's going to love it!

So This Is Not Home Sweet Home.....Adjust!
My Girl Scout troop made mini first aid kits one year out of those metal containers that came in the mail with a CD in it. We spray painted the canister white and the girls drew on them with sharpies. Then they added things like band aids, small Neosporin packets, cotton rounds, etc. I still have mine in the car. You could also use film canisters, Altoid tins or anything small that stays closed.
Origami flowers are fun too. I don't know what your age group is, but for 3rd or 4th grade and up, those are fun to create. You can look online for simple patterns.
Wood picture frames are inexpensive. You can do so much with them! Glue colored sand on them, decoupage, paint, sharpies, glue shells or small items on them, then put a picture of the mom and her kid(s) inside.
Good luck!
