I would suggest aloe after sun gel, clear or green. I get mine at Rite Aid.
ok well i feel aweful. My family and I went to the race track ad i put sunscreen on him but I forgot to reapply!!! I feel like a horriable mom. He got a sunburn and I have been putting cream (Vitamin A&D) on his face but it looks really red. He has alittle temp but no blisters. Is there anything else I can do for him I feel aweful :(
Well here is what happened. We woke up the next morning and it looked like he had a little blister on his cheek. I called the ped. and he told me to come in to the office on SUNDAY so he could see him (I love my ped.). Well it was not a sunburn it was wind burn from it being so windy on saturday adn the blister was a little pimple! OOPS better safe than sorry! Thank you for all the great advice!!!!

hi N., we have all done that at least once. arbonne has a great after sun products that help cool sunburn. maybe for the next time you have a exposure they have some wonderful baby sun products.K.
Aloe works really good for sunburns. It helps take the sting away. If it starts to blister you might want to go see the doctor. Also try keeping the aloe in the fridge. Good luck.
oh I know that sounds awful. My 2y/o daughter had this wierd rash for over a week on her arms and we couldnt figure out from what until we brought her to the doctor and he said it was sunburn!! And we use spf 50 on her! I couldnt believe it I was in such shock. But the doctor recommended cortizone cream because the burn gets itchy and it will help with inflamation and if she had any discomfort he told us to give her motrin or tylenol. There's not much more you can do he told us. I hope that might of helped!
I have heard vinegar will take the sting out of the sunburn. You are not an awful mother, we all make mistakes!

No more creams!!The cream even aloe gel keeps the heat in and thats the last thing you want.
I have used frozen sponges for my toddler and 10 year old. It sounds kinda silly but we've cut out numbers an put them in the freezer so they're ready when needed. No child will leave a ice pack on for longer than a few minutes so why not have a little fun with it!Once there cut out wet them and store them seprately in sandwich bags in the freezer and there you go,ready when needed.
Than squeeze the remaining water out and start over again.FYI they only take about a hour to harden again so you can re-apply as much as you want.
Good Luck
I always use Aloe also it is easier to apply and works wonders as it immeditely takes the stinging away and will heal faster and will keep it from drying out..you are not the first mom to do this and you will not be the last..it happens to all of us..
First of all...STOP WITH THE CREAMS!!!! He has a temp because the cream actually keeps the heat from the sunburn in. This isn't diaper rash where a barrier helps. Next, go get some aloe sunburn relief, put it into the fridge to cool it and apply several times a day. This will keep little guy's face cool, clean and moisturized.
I'm very fair skinned and this is what works, trust me. I made the mistake of putting on lotion/creams before and what wasn't blisters turned into them. My doc told me it's because the creams keep heat in.
Good luck!!
