Whatever you use, don't use Coppertone for kids. My daughter broke out terribly on her face from it and I know of at least 5 other children who broket out from it, as well. We are now using Aveeno with much success.

I used Coppertone for Babies on my son when he was that age and it worked wonderfully. You just have to be very vigilant about re-applying it. Have fun!

we use california baby available at whole foods. a bit expensive but it contains titanium dioxide which is recommended by dermatologists and it is a natural product.

I've only used the Alba Organics all-natural sunscreens on my infant & my older daughter now. I LOVE them! They work great!

When we're not going in the water, they have a new mineral-based one that has no artificial ingredients which I love. Other than that, we just use their "kids" formula (which smells SO good!).

Have fun!!!

Your safest and best bet for choosing a sunscreen for your son would be to visit http://www.ewg.org/ and more specifically the section dedicated to sunscreens http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/special/sunscreens2008/. While many will have their personal favs and even represent an organization that sells a very good one, wanting to make an informed decision is why you're here asking. This website will help you do that.

Have fun at the beach. Little ones are so precious to watch and the beach is so much fun.

Blessings,
Rolinda

p.s. we use UV Natural Sunscreen, SPF 30+ which is #8 on the top 10 suncreen list and we love it.

Arbonne has great products for babies and kids. I definitely reccomend their sunscreen. It's the kind of thing that you have to order through a consultant though and not buy in the store. It's a bit pricy but it will last a couple years and it's totally worth it - because it's good stuff that you will be putting on your baby... no odd chemicals or hormones in the products. I think www.arbonne.com is the main website. Good luck!

I really love the Aveeno spray on sunscreen for my son. It's easy to put on. Make sure to take a hat, swim cover-up and umbrella for LOTS of shade. Put it on 30 minutes before you go out and reapply often! The higher the SPF, the better. Be prepared, he may not like the sand OR water at this age so make sure to have a nice blanket or cabana! Have fun!

Shaklee has a real good sunscreen that doesn't irritate even the most sensitive skin. It isn't oily and it contains vitamins and botanicals. Go to http://www.shaklee.net/dudinyak/product/32519 to check it out.

S.,
I have to agree with the ladies who recommend Arbonne. My oldest who is now 10 yrs old has sensitive skin and all the sunscreens I bought irritated his skin especially when we went to the beach. (My inlaws live at the beach so we are there a lot.) Two years ago I finally tried Arbonne after several friends had recommended it. It was great! So smooth and not greasy at all and best of all it has never irritated his skin. My 4 kids are all very active outside kids and this works great for them all and for us. I became an Arbonne consultant because I love the products so much and if you would like to try it I will be happy to get it for you. My email is ____@____.com It is SPF 30+ and provides protection against UVA and UVB rays. It is formulated with antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E.

Have a great time at the beach! Your son will love it!

We use baby Arbonne Sunblock. It doesn't contain any harmful ingredients and does not clog pores. It also smells nice and does not leave that greasy feeling on our daughters skin. My nieces who are 9 and 11 will always choose to wear our sunblock over the bag of sunblock my sister packs for them because they say "it doesn't feel yucky on our skin". You can purchase Arbonne from an Independent Consultant. If you need someones name and number send me an email. I can give you the name of the person I purchase my products from. Have fun at the beach!

Water Babies SPF 50. My son is an "outside boy" and for as much time as we spend out in the sun, he's never burned and only has a light tan.

My daughter is 8 months and I use Aveeno Baby. I have not had a problem other than the fact it was hard to find in stores.

We use the baby version of Banana Boat with SPF 50. It has both the UVA and UVB that they need, and our son has literally been all over to the beach(Cape Cod, Delaware, Outer Banks, the caribbean), and he has never burnt (and doesn't even get close!)and even when it has gotten in his eyes there are no tears. I will never use anything but this sunscreen on his skin. One downfall is that it is REALLY thick, but I figure it's just protecting his skin more. Hope this helps and have fun!

My daughter has eczema so her skin is sensitive, but I've always had good success with Coppertone Water Babies, both the lotion and the spray on stuff. It doesn't irritate her skin and she has never burned. Its SPF 50. Good luck!
