Does anyone know how to get sunscreen out of carpet? My 2 year old decided to squirt my entire bottle of brand new sunscreen lotion all over herself and the carpet. The more I scrub - the more it gets into the carpet fibers.

Borrow or purchase a carpet cleaner or wet-vac that sucks out the lotion and whatever soap/detergent you have already put on the stain. Then treat with additional cleaning solution (soap/detergent/carpet cleaner, etc), brush it in, and then suck it up. I have a Bissell Little Green Machine, and the cleaning solution that comes with it really breaks down greasy things and the suction removes the residue. The suction is enough that it will pull most of the liquid out, so the rug will dry in a few hours.

We have the Bissel spot lifter 2X $30...best investment EVER! We have used it hundreds of times from lotion in the floor, puke, chocolate in the floor, general stains...everything. It is pretty powerful! Highly recommended. I notice that lots of places have it for way expensive but we got ours at Fred Meyers for $30-39.00

I had Desitin all over my carpet. Rent a steam cleaner from one of the grocery stores. It gets it out.

My daughter did this too but with lotion. I was told to leave it be and it will dry and come uo with normal vacuming. But since you have already tried cleaning it, maybe what is suggested below.

I've had great luck with a product called Folex. I got it at BiMart, but I think you can get it at Home Depot and/or Lowe's. You spray it on, rub it like crazy with your fingertips, then blot it out. So far it's worked on blood, paint and coffee for us!

Have you tried Dawn dish soap? For some reason it seems to be the strongest dish detergent out there. I keep it around to strip soap and oil residue off of diapers every so often. It should cut right through the oils in the sunscreen. I'd use it, slightly diluted, and then use a wet vac if possible to pick up the liquid and really rinse a bunch. If you do rent a machine, avoid the heat or steam setting because heat sets oil stains.
