Hi. I noticed some people mentioning ISR swim lessons. I am one of the few people in the area who is certified to teach this technique. I teach students as young as 6 months (if they are crawling) up to 6 yrs. Students under around 14 mo learn to float until someone can get to them, and students older than that learn to swim and float. All lessons are one on one. It's an amazing technique. You can go to www.infantswim.com to watch video and learn more. I have a few openings, so let me know if you're interested.

My 8 month old daughter is starting her swim lessons with Cindy Clark in Frisco later this month. You can get her contact information and find out more about the lessons at www.infantaquatics.com She teached survival swimming techniques. Her schedule is pretty full, but I think she still has a few slots left.

I definitely recommend Infant Swimming Resource (ISR). This is my son's 3rd year of lessons (he's 2.5) with Sheri Phillips in Plano. My son was swimming on his own across the pool at 1.5. You can look them up at infantswim.com.

I took my 18 month old daughter to McKinney High School this past week for swim lessons. It was $35 for the week, and she loved it. I heard about it through a friend, but I'm sure you could just call the school and see about getting in. I know that they had various weeks of lessons throughout the summer.

We started our 2 kids in SwimPlus in Plano. Both of my kids LOVE it! Today was their second lesson--my kids are age 4 and 21 months. Last summer, my oldest took 2 weeks of lessons at a community pool--she didn't learn much, but just got used to the water. I really wanted her to be taught at least the fundamentals of swimming. Last week, on her first day at SwimPlus, she was already taught to put her head under water, and started learning to kick and the swimming arm movements. As for my 21 month old, he is already learning the arm movements for swimming and floating on his back! I am amazed! I highly recommend them! The website is: www.swimplus.com

Good luck!

Kara Calhoun at ###-###-#### gave all three of our kids lessons and they loved her.

She brings incentive toys to encourage them, and was a life guard at Plantation Resort in Frisco for four years. She currently works at TAX TIME on 121 and Preston in Frisco.

Highly recommended.

My son was not allowed to catch his breath for 10 minutes and pretty much passed out after his lesson. They're dangerous, in my opinion, especially "Mr. D"-he's the one who taught my son (for a few days until I said "enough!").

I am a certified Infant Aquatics instructor. I teach in McKinney and I have a few openings available if you're interested in lessons. Feel free to view my website at www.swimbabyswimtx.com or www.infantaquatics.com
Infants from 6 months old can learn to swim and float. Children 12 months and older will learn to swim float swim. Each child learns to swim under water and then turn on their back to float and then swim again. It's amazing what you're our kiddos are capable of. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or would like further information.

I would recommend Emler Swim School in Plano. It is a little pricey, but very well work it. I would probably start a child there around 3. My son was scared of the water & now is swimming across the pool after one semester.

Good Luck!

You can try Frisco, or McKinney parks & recreation to see if they offer swim lessons. I signed my two boys up with the City of Denton parks & recreation and it was only $55 per child. Much more affordable than Emler's school, but I am not sure since we just started if it is good or not. Saturday was our first class and all they did was introduce them to the water, blow bubbles, kick and jump in the pool, but I figure it is a start. As they get older they have more advanced classes.
