Use swim ear drops or alcohol after swimming to get the water dried up to prevent infection
Hello Moms, We are lucky and we have a neighborhood pool. My boys sometimes swim 5 or 6 times a week. Unfortunately, it seems like all summer long one or the other has an earache (I'm assuming from the pool water).
What suggestions do you have to try to prevent this from occuring??
Thank you (It's almost Friday, thank heaven!!)

We try make sure our daughter has all the water out, hop on each foot to shake it out, and I also blow dry her ears with cool air. Another thing that has seemed to help is rinsing her ears with peroxide or even just swabbing them out with a q-tip dipped in peroxide.
A little bit of alcohol in each ear after swimming helps dry and kil bacteria. I also have my kids use ear plugs as well.
Having had this with a family member every time they swim ( it's called swimmers ear I think ), the doctor told them to get ear plugs that are even more safe than just 'ear plugs' and they really keep water out. Some people just get ear infections everytime they get their ears full of water and this saves a lot of pain and a lot of money at doctors.
