I went to the Plano YMCA and my kids loved it. There is, however, the Allen Natatorium (http://www.cityofallen.org/parks/natatorium.htm)that offers swimming lessons and I hear they are great. The website for swiming is http://www.cityofallen.org/parks/aquatics.htm. The best part of that is the evaluation. They will let you know where your child should start, etc. I have several friends who are members of the Natatorium because it was across the office from where I worked and they love it - inexpensive and nice with tons of stuff to do.

Some of our really good friends' mom teaches swimming lessons at her house - or she used to. She lives in Whitesboro though so that may be too far for you to drive.

Good luck.

M. we took our little girl to Lifetime Fitness, and we loved it. You don't have to be a member to do they're classes but you do have to pay a little bit more then members do. (but well worth it) Good Luck!

I swear by Emler Swim School! We started my oldest son when he was 15 months old and it was his favorite day of the week! They have multiple locations and they offer a free trial class on their website. Here is the link http://iswimemler.com/ Good luck and have fun!

If you're closer to N. Fort Worth/Keller try Aquakids. We've used them for both kids and they're great!

i have taken 4 kids to Aqua kids swim school. They have in Keller and Flower mound. We tried other schools with my oldest but Aqua kids had all four swimming the length of the pool in the first year. They are really good. A little more pricey but so worth it.

I agree with your local YMCA. My children take swimming lessons at the South Arlington YMCA and are doing very well. They have classes for all ages and levels. They seem to be less expensive than Emlers Swim School, too.

Different Strokes offers classes at either the pool at Harris Methodith HEB or in your own backyard.

I took my son to YMCA. Unfortunately that didn't work out. I hired a private individual to do one on one with my son. That didn't work out either! My father offered to take him to the pool himself and spend some time with him. Great news, he now is an awesome swimmer. Best of luck to the pair of you.

Check out http://www.lonestarswimschool.com. It's in Coppell. I took my daughter last year and she loved it and did great. They are very reasonably priced, $50 for two weeks and work really well with the kiddos.

I took my kids to the swim lessons. They didn't really learn to swim until we joined a summer swim team. My daughter is a life guard now and I don't worry about my son's abilities at the beach.

In Houston area (including Ft Bend) go to www.shrsl.org and look up your local team. It's usually about $100 for two and a half months of swimming. Practice makes better!!
