I know the Antelope Aquatic Center offers lessons, but I don't know how pricey they are. I would love to know what you find, we're wanting to do swim lessons this year, too!
I have a 16 month old and I would like to enroll him in swimming lessons but I can't seem to find any that are reasonably priced. So far I have found $40 for 2 weeks and 25 minute sessions. I live in North Highlands but I am willing to drive to Antelope, Citrus Heights, Carmichael and Roseville.

City of Vacaville is $40 for 8 lessons, M-Th for two weeks.
I know that is a little far, but that seems to be the case for group lessons. I actually started my kids because they had some issues in more of a semi-private environment at one of the local sports clubs here and it was $18/20-30 min lesson! So, yes, we spent probably $200 easily before they were in a point where they were comfortable enough to be in group lessons. You know your child and how he learns, if he learns better one-on-one, you might start out with some private lessons and get him comfortable and happy in the water, then move him to the cheaper group lessons. But if he's a leader, no fear and totally ready to follow the directions, put him in groups! Have fun!!!
That's about the going rate.... we are enrolled at the new Antelope pool with my two year old and it's around $40 for two weeks, or 8 sessions. We took him last year when he was only 10 months old and he loved it, so we're doing it again. It's sooo much fun and worthwhile! Good luck!
Try the YMCA. That is where my son learned and it rocked!
Good luck.
We go to Dolphin Swim on El Camino. ###-###-####
http://swim.dolphinscuba.com/parent-tot. It's only $10/class and you pay for four at a time. You use them at your liesure. There are 3 drop in classes/week you can attend (Tuesday/Thursday/Friday). You're in the pool with your child and the teachers come around to you and assist you in teaching your child how to swim and/or become confortable in the water. Sunscreen not needed...the pool is indoor and heated! We love it!

J.,
I'm not a 100% sure, but check with the rec center on Watt Avenue, between Karl Drive and Don Julio...You could probably track down the phone number as there's an elementary school there as well, believe it's Frederick Joyce...I grew up in that area and pretty sure I noticed the rolling marquee offering swim lessons...hope I haven't mis-steered you!
Also, check the "Y", it's downtown...
Try the YMCA, it costs $38 for 8 sessions. Good luck and have fun swimming with your little one.

Hi J.,
I too have a 16 month old and I'd like to have him in swimming lessons this year. The cheapest I've found is like you said, $40 for 2 weeks. I have my older son in swimming lessons at Rusch Park and this year I'll have both my kids there... it will be $80!!! Ouch... but it's worth it. If you find a place that's cheaper, let me know! =)
There's a really great place in Loomis, Ca I don't know the cost but they have fantastic programs. It's called Sea Otter 151 Brace Road | Loomis, CA 95650 | ###-###-####
Good luck!
