The YMCA offers wonderful swimming lessons as reasonable prices. They can start your children off with basic lessons so they become used to the water.
My son has taken lessons from the Y before; he loved it!
Hi everyone. I'm looking for good places for swimming lessons this summer. I have a 3-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter and neither of them have had lessons before. Thanks for the advice!

I am planning on trying the VB Rec Center this summer for swimming lessons for both of my kids. I have also heard good things about the YMCA/YWCA.

The local rec centers offer good Red Cross certified lessons, the YMCA is good and the local dive centers offer great private lessons. The sooner the better!
I have heard really good things about the YMCA. They have different classes for all levels of swimmers and I think they are relatively inexpensive.
I say teach them yourself. Start at home in the tub getting them used to being on their tummy in the water. Then get them used to getting their face wet. Then go to the pool and teach 'em to swim. That how I did it w/ my oldest one. I have 2 little ones now, so I will have to work on it when my hubby is home or goes w/ us to watch one while I swim w/ the other.
Hi H.,
The YMCA is a good starting poing. Find one in your city.
Good luck. D.
