My son and I love going to www.starfall.com. It's great for ABC's, learning how to read, etc. I hope this helps.
Does anyone have any ideas on good teaching guides for an almost 3 year old. I'm really looking for stuff you would find in an early pre-school. I stay at home with my son and would like to get more ideas on what/how to teach him. I know this question is very vague. Sorry. I don't know how else to explain it.

Check out some preschool curriculum online. I get lots of ideas from these websites. Just google preschool curric. online and see what you see. Crayola.com has some great stuff as well as kidsparkz.com. :) Have fun! Mine is almost 3 and love doing stuff with her!
You could try some of the Preschool activity books. We have a few for our 4 year old that we have been using since he was around 3 or so. He loves them and asks to do some "exercises" in his book regularly. We got our on Amazon.com so I could read reviews from other parents who bought them. We also have a few sticker books for my son that help him to identify photos, read the numbers next to them, and help him look for the missing sticker. He then has to locate the sticker and place it in the appropriate spot helping him to align it correctly. I've noticed a huge improvement in his skills since we started them. Here are a some links to my favorite ones:

I'm so glad you asked this question! My daughter and I are in the same situation. I just bought a preschool activity book that she enjoys, "learning something new" in. Some of it is too advanced for her, and some is really easy review, but some of it is just enough above that I feel like she is learning something. I'd say just remember to make it fun and not stressful for either one of you and you can have learning experiences all the time! Good luck! (I'll be checking to see the suggestions you get from other moms too. Again, thanks for asking!)
A great question and it's not to early to begin. They are hungry for learn and are so open and receptive. The following are a couple of links I HIGHLY recommend. You'll do more for your son (and yourself) if you help him build a solid foundation that underlies his performance, his relationships and his well-being. If you have questions, let me know. Have fun with it!!!!

My son loves Starfall.com and has learned a lot from it. At 3, he now knows all of his letters and most of their sounds, and is learning skills like rhyming and sounding out words. He can tell you what letter most words start with just from hearing it. I think Starfall had a lot to do with this.
I also sell Discovery Toys, and we have some really amazing products that many people use in preschool and home-school settings. They are all educational, but very fun so the kids don't feel like they are working hard to learn. You can check them all out here: http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/karenchao I also would love to give you specific recommendations. Feel free to contact me anytime.
