I have only been Catholic for 7 years.
Our daughter, 17, is going through confiormation this year and I need to know what I should gift her for this occasion. Also, should we have a party? Is there something special she should wear?
At her first communion, I didn't know she was supposed to wear all white and I was embarrassed that she was the only girl not dressed traditionally.
We gave her a gold chain and cross with a diamond at her first communion- so that's not something I can give her this time around.
Thank you and God Bless!

What can I do next?

I am Lutheran, but I have a son going through Confirmation and I am a Confirmation mentor. How about an engraved frame that you can put a photo in for her special day as a gift? You could have her name, date, name of church, etc. or whatever you choose on the frame. Whether you have a party is very personal and individual. We had a huge open house at our home when I was confirmed many years ago. For our son next year we will probably just go out to eat or have a small party at home. I plan to invite grandparents and godparents. If we do have some sort of small party at our house then I might include some of his fellow Confirmation students and his adult mentor. As for what she should wear I would consult the church. At our church they just need to wear nice clothes, nothing particular. The boys often wear ties and dress pants and the girls wear skirts or dress pants. Congratulations.

We did have a little party with family for confirmation, my 1 year younger brother and I were confirmed at the same time so we had a joint party. We had robes to wear over a dress, so it was more like graduation, I'm not sure if that's how it is everywhere.

I received my great-grandmother's rosary from my grandmother, which is the only present I remember from Confirmation.

We are Lutheran also, and my son is confirmed and daughter is going thru classes. For our son, we gave him a Book of Prayers.
Since you are Catholic, perhaps a nice set of Rosary beads?

I'm Lutheran as well. Both kids went through confirmation. We gave our daughter some really pretty earrings. Our son received a cross from James Avery. We had an open house for each of them, they are 4 years apart.

Its a big deal and we made it a big deal. Grandparents came from out of state. It was really nice!
