My two yr old son fell & broke his four front teeth. My question is does it cause any speech problem in the future or is he gonna have any difficulty getting his permanent teeth? Thanks in advance!!

If you haven't already, you need to get him in to see a pediatric dentist. If not, you'll be setting him up for health issues in the future. Further, a complex from other kids teasing him about his broken teeth. Broken teeth can cause decay and disease in the mouth as they begin to die and rot. This bacteria can lead to heart disease and other issues such as gum disease and cavities and rot in the teeth next to the others. It can also damage the permanent teeth that are under the broken teeth. The broken teeth can be pulled or capped. A pediatric dentist can also discuss with you about any speech impediment the missing teeth may or may not cause. Thank fully they are baby teeth and his new permanent teeth can come in later. God luck. There are many websites to visit that discuss this info as well. We have a close family friend that went through this last year with their 3 yr old. Her teeth were pulled, but she's doing great!

take him to the Dentist.
that is the only way to address it.
And to see if there was any trauma to his underlying permanent teeth.

all the best,

My nephew feel off a jungle gym and fell on his four front baby teeth on concrete. It pushed everything in, so for him it caused a delay in him getting his perminent teeth. He did end up getting them and his teeth are fine now, but it took awhile. He also had a slight lisp from not having those teeth. Go to a pediatric dentist so they can help you get the best care.

my almost three year old daughter actolly had to have her first four teeth pulled and it hasn't stoped nor differed her speech, it has actolly helped her but thats cause they were hurting her lol...but it shouldn't make much of a difference expesolly since he is so young, they will grow back soon enough.

Never heard it affecting speech however, it may damage the nerve and the teeth may turn black. Dentist will say that he is gonna lose the teeth anyway so don't worry about it till they are loose and fall out. You may want to check with a dentist if you are concerned.

It should not hurt his permanent teeth. What may hurt his permanent teeth is if he is a tongue thruster and this makes him thrust his tongue through the opening while swallowing or at rest. To check this have him swallow while smiling and watch to see if he grimaces in the chin or the tongue comes thru the teeth in front or sides. Tongue should be on the hard palate behind the front teeth at rest and while swallowing. This causes a multitude of ortho and airway/allergy problems later if not taken care of today. You need to take your child to a Pediatric Dentist and have the teeth capped. It can be a big issue if those teeth get abscessed. The infection can go to their brains before you even know they hurt. Children can't always tell where they hurt at that age and can't say , "Hey, I have a tooth ache".

The Pediatric Dentist will put the child to sleep and do all the teeth at once. It is BETTER this way. They have no memory of the drilling, things in their mouth, masks for gas on their face, the smell of the tooth being drilled, etc...they gointo the hospital, go to sleep for about an hour and come out with new teeth and no issues.

At the very least find one to do x-rays and take a look to see if the cracks go all the way up into the root.

My children were running and my daughter tripped over my son's feet and fell. She knocked out one of her front teeth. She was also 2. We went to the dentist and he said she had an infection in her other tooth and took it out. They put in a bridge with 2 fake teeth for asthetics only. No speech issues, no problems with her front teeth coming in. Go to the dentist and he should be able to put your fears to rest.
