I need some HELP!!!! My little girl is going to be 9 months old and is teething. She has 2 teeth coming in. I have been up ALL night these past 2 nights. She is breast feed and doesn't even want to EAT!!!! I have been giving her infant tynole, but NOTHING seems to be working. Can some HELP me PLEASE!!!!!
My son always cut two teeth at a time and would run the fever and throw up. When he would teeth I would use childrens advil I loved that stuff also the oragel works but only for a short time and my son hated that stuff. I would give my son a green onion to bite on there is something in it that softens their gums for the teeth to come through easier.
D.,
Have you tried givig her Motrin at night? My son did much better with Motrin as it doesn't wear off as fast as Tylenol. I would also suggest Teething Tablets. They are a lifesaver! You can purchase them at Walgreens or Walmart. There are a few different brands but I used the Hyland Teething Tablets. They are 100% natural & can be given to infants. (They immediately dissolve on or under the tongue). I would give my son Motrin, Teething Tablets & then rub some Night Time Orajel on his gums before bedtime and it seemed to help. (He had a very hard time with every tooth that came in). I hope you find something that works!
Best of luck to you!
Have you tried Tylenol and Motrin together?
Motrin worked best with both of my kids. Try to massage the area that the teeth are coming in. I would try to avoid the orajel if you are nursing. With my son it would numb his mouth and he would try to nurse and would have a hard time. He also would bite.
Hi D., Our peditrician recommended Motrin (as did many other responses to this before me!) But she also said if it is really bad you can alternate between Motrin and Tylenol. If you alternate you can give it every three hours instead of six. So you give Tylenol then three hours later Motrin then three hours later Tylenol and so on.
Hope that helps!

What worked for my son is orajel the stuff works really well even though some people say it does not, but i have had success with it. You put it on their gums, and i say after 5min. They are calm.
With my son, Hylands teething tablets work wonders. I give him 3 at a time. Also, I got him the netted feeder things and let him chew on frozen organic veggies. That works really well. You can also buy clove oil and mix it with olive oil (check it on you gums first) to help numb the area naturally. Orajel and all of that stuff is so bad for them. It also numbs their lips, etc... and I wouldn't recommend it.
I give my daughter Gentle Naturals Homeopathic Teething Drops. I got them at Target and they have Disney characters on them. They worked for my daughter better than Orajel ever did, but she did like the Orajel q-tips. There are also some kind of tablets that dissolve in their mouth, I know my brother uses those for my nephew. My daughter never really took to all those teething rings and what not. Teething is tough. The top have been way worse for us than the bottom ones because she gets a very runny nose.
Hope something works, but if she doesn't eat soon I would call your ped.
When my daughter was teething I gave her teething tablets, They are completely natural and they disolve under her tounge in seconds and they work great. You can find them at walgreens. Make sure they say teething tablets not teething pellets. They pellets don't work nearly as well. They should be in a light blue box. I hope this helps you I know it help my daughter.
Have you tried Motrin? My daughter is also 9 months and getting her 7th and 8th teeth. She didn't have problems with the others, but these seem particularly painful. I was giving her the homeopathic teething tablets, and sometimes Orajel at night, but neither seem to work this time. Even Tylenol wasn't helping, so her pediatrician suggested Motrin.
I've only given it to her about 4 times, but it really seems to help. I usually give it to her just at night. If she can get a good night's sleep, the day is much easier.
She's also breastfed and doesn't eat sometimes. I was told if you're really missing feedings, you should pump so your supply doesn't decrease too much (you might NEED to if she really isn't eating!). Your baby will start eating again soon though.
