M. S,
I go through this all the time with my one year old and all my friends babies do to. Sometimes, they may run a low grade fever with teething. Teething also causes frequent sticky bowel movements at times. But, we're talking about temperature less than 100 degrees F. Tythenol every six hours can help with that. But, fevers are tricky, if it's more than 100 degrees and it doesn't go away in 24 hours with the tythenol, it could be the baby fighting an infection, which is usually ear infection or sinus infection, accompanied by a cold. It really depends on how warm she is. Does she have a cold? On the other hand, is she putting her fingers in her mouth, chewing everything, and slobbering a lot more . If so it could be teeting with a little temperature. Call her doctor if it gets worse or doesn't go away in 24 hours. My kid just recently had a low temp with teething, but though she felt warm to the touch, the temp was only 99. No need to call the doc for that, I gave her tythenol and freeze pops, she's fine now. If it's teething, for your baby, get a mesh feeder, put some crushed ice in it and let her nibble on that.
Most folks say teething doesn't cause fevers and loose bowels. Either way, babies get fevers all the time for many reasons. It's how thier bodies fight germs and infections. If it's low with no other symtoms, your doctor will usually tell you to treat it at home and wait it out. Any thing over 100, that last for several days, i'm at the ER....
