The end of the school year is approaching and I'm trying to think of gifts for my son's preschool teachers to thank them for the fabulous year that they've given my son. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

M.

I'm going to have my kids paint a little flower pot and we already picked out a marigold plant to put in it. I've also done the "Cookie in a jar" You can look up recipes on the internet and just put all the ingredients in a jar and make a card for the instructions.

I know gift cards have been mentioned but thought I would add a few more specific gift card ideas:
Gas gift cards (who wouldn't like this nowadays)
Grocery gift cards
Garden Center gift card
Coffee Gift card (someone already mentioned this... but only get it if you know the teacher really likes coffee otherwise she will never use it)

Put them in a handmade card that your child helps you make to personalize it a bit more.

One of my mom's favorite gifts has been the handmade stepping stones. The parents from her preschool class all got together to pitch in to make them. They used glass and stones in cement. My mom loves gardening so if you know of a hobby that the teacher enjoys do something along those lines... that makes it very personal.

I was a preschool teacher many years ago, and I always really appreciated anything I got from parents--it was just so nice to receive a little something as a token of their appreciation. Depending on how much you're looking to spend, gift cards for coffee shops were always great. Also, small boxes of good chocolates, and nice hand lotions (we were always washing our hands and had VERY dry skin!) were great. I also always loved getting cards that my students had written or scribbled on, depending their age, were always nice. It's so nice of you to think of them. Take care!

I have gotten an apple scented Woodwick candle for my kids teachers. I also saw that the gift shop I go to has cute teacher themed tea and thought that might be nice.

Being a pre-school teacher ive always enjoyed things that can relax me. Once i received a basket (kinda like a easter basket) with a realization cd and some lotions and bath stuff, a card signed by the whole family, and a small box of chocolates. The family didn't have much money and she apologized that everything was from the local dollar store, but it was the best gift i had ever gotten. It's really about the thought that counted. I think your child's teacher would appreciate anything that acknowledges their efforts to be a good influence and educator in your child's life. Your very thoughtful and im sure you will do something great. Good Luck.

I was just thinking about this today!
I think I'm going to do a gift card for Barnes & Noble or Lakeshore Learning (a teacher supply store in St. Louis Park).
I'm sure a gift card to just about anywhere would be nice.
