The Best, Least-Bulky, Cloth Diapers?

Hi! I'm seriously considering switching over to cloth diapers for my son - now 5 months. I used only disposables with my daughter, but have been noticing the chemical smells (I saw a post on this earlier) more recently and I can't stand them, he has much more sensitive skin than she does, and we're also trying to be a little more "natural" all around. I've know a few people in the past who have used them, but they seemed so bulky that they almost looked uncomfortable for the baby. So, for any of you who use cloth diapers - what is your favorite brand and why? Have you found any to be a little less bulky than others? Thanks!
C

I personally use indian cotton prefolds with thirsty covers. They are bulky, but my little guy has never minded them. Now, I have a friend who uses a bamboo fitted diaper with (I could be wrong on the brand here) thirsty covers as well. The bamboo diapers seem to be a lot thinner and she swears they hold just as much.
The one's she uses are like these:

and an insert like these as well:

again, I am not 100% sure what brand she uses though, but these seem pretty similar.

I have used the brand Best Bottom cloth diapers, you order diaper covers and inserts (cloth or hemp). My concern was the bulkiness as well, I was worried his pants wouldn't fit anymore. I honestly found these diapers to be no more bulkier than a regular Pampers or Huggies diaper, and they're a one size fits all which is great. I highly recommend them. I ordered them from Kelly's Closet, they have free shipping on Best Bottom diapers I think.

We used FuzziBunz when my lil guy was in diapers. It actually helped him fill out his pants when he was younger since he was a skinny guy. :) I also ordered from Kelly's Closet.

Hi there,

We like the BumGenius 4.0 pocket diapers a lot, but they're not cheap (about $16 or $18 per diaper, plus we use extra inserts at night). We use regular prefolds and wrap covers, which are much less expensive (but definitely bulkier). The least bulky diaper I've tried is made by an Australian company called Bum Cheeks -- the one-size minky nappy. It's a cross between an all-in-one and a pocket diaper, and is super soft. But it retails at about $27 or $30 each. I got mine on babysteals.com for a lot less, but even so it was probably about $15.

Best,
R.

I love BumGenius. I also really like FuzziBunz diapers. Good luck. They are so much easier to use than you would think!
