The Trick to Get Pooh Out!?!?!?!?

I used to be a nanny for two boys and they used to get into everything,I used the Spray and Wash first rinse in cold water then spray the spray and wash.Hope this helps.

Spray and wash worked well for me I had this problem too. and i also started putting rubber pants on her like the kind that goes over cloth diapers. Most walmarts sell them

Try Palmolive Oxy dish soap. Put it on as a pretreat and let it set. It takes out almost everything.

I have used Awesome! It costs $1 at the General Dollar Store and I have had no trouble! Good Luck!

put it derectly on the stain, fold the material over it and throw it in the wash. easy, fast and effective!

Try pre-soaking the clothes in borax and detergent. Then wash agian using some borax. It if clothes remain stained wash again. It even got out some set in stains.

Just curious if the advice everyone gave you worked. The best kind of Oxyclean to use is the powder you put in with the normal detergent. I can honestly throw pooped filled clothes in the wash with that stuff and just turn on pretreat and it's gone. My neighbor told me about it a few months ago and it's my new best friend. So many of my 1st daughter's clothes were ruined with those yellow stains but powder oxyclean in the wash is amazing! They also make a free version (no perfume, dyes, chlorine) which is nice for babies with sensitive skin. Not sure if the pretreat spray oxyclean by itself works as well but the powder does for sure. Try Dreft or Tide. I think Tide takes stains out better than any other detergent. Dreft is meant for baby laundry.

I had the same problem with my little one's clothes.
I found the powder "OxiClean Baby" worked great for all stains on his clothes, from spit up to poo.
You can make a paste to apply directly to the stain or put a scoop into the laundry with your regular detergent.
It comes in a small round container, and I could only find it at either Target or Babies R Us, usually.

Dreft spray is a life-saver! Try that. You can get it at Target. I think Walmart carries it too. I do a combo of Dreft spray, OxiClean spray, and Shout.

There is stuff called Toddler Time or something like that. You can get it at Wal-Mart in the baby aisle like where the diapers and bath stuff is, not the baby food. It comes in a spray bottle (like window cleaner or something) and has a pink label. It works awesome on stains. I started using it when my daughter was spitting up on everything. It took it all completely out - even if it had gotten dried in by accident. You can use it as a pre-treater or a cleaner. I love it and I use it all of our stains now, not just baby ones. Hope this helps.

What brand of diapers are you using? I tried huggies with my diaper and they were awful!!! always leeaked. But PAmpers and Luvs seem to work very good for her...very rarely leak...unless she just super saturates. My grandma used to be a nurse and thge only thing she could get the hospital stains out of her uniforn was Fantastic spray. Worked like a charm. I use Shout on my daughters close and it works most of the time, sometimes i mix a little palmolive dish soap with it and it does the trick. Hope this helps.

If your problem is anything like those I've experienced with my own children, it sounds like it is time to move up a size in your diapers. I always knew it was time to change sizes when my girls had "leaks" up the backs of their diapers. Good luck.

Wash out as much of the pooh with plain old soap and line dry. Then just use a "Spray and Wash" stain stick on the spot and through in the wash. You don't have to wash right away. The ones they make specifically for infants does not work as well. Also, before putting the clothes in the dryer, check to be sure the stain is out. Once you dry the clothes, you've set the stain. You can always try using the stain stick again for the next wash. Good luck!

You have gotten a lot of great advice I thought I would still tell you what I did... I used the shout spray and the spray and was stain stick together... People still can believe that actually worked. it's great for spit up stains too.. hope you have some luck

My first thought is that you should try to avoid the diaper blow-outs in the first place. Often wehen they occur it is because you need to move to the next size of diapers. The weight range on the packages aren't exact.

I'm afraid I don't have much advice on cleaning the clothes, with the exception of rinsing it out with cold water as soon after it happens as you can.

Try Totally Toddler. It's a spray that you can use to pre-treat baby's clothes & it really works better than anything else I've tried. Good luck!

I've had good luck with Spray n' Wash. I just soak the stain really well. Then Dreft detergent. Also, if your baby's weight is approaching the next size diaper you may want to go ahead and move up.

Try Dawn dish soap! I know it sounds funny but it even gets chocolate out of whites. Just pour it on and rub it in and let it set for 5-10 min then wash it, it works wonders. Let me know if it works.

The responses give great ideas and so I don't want to be redundant.

I use a paste made of dishwashing detergent (Dawn or Palmolive since they are less harsh on my hands) and baking soda. Then I wet the stain with cool water and scrub on some 'paste' with an old toothbrush. Wash as usual. I repeat this process if necessary BEFORE drying.
This stuff packs a punch though so don't let it sit on colors overnight...it'll result in a sorta bleached stain. How do I know? :)

I also agree with the bigger diapers. Although I know from experience with my 1st daughter that it is not a cure-all. I bought size 3 when she was only a couple months old...it didn't help even though she was engulfed in diaper. She would literally explode and it went clear up her back...I don't miss those days being in the store (explosion) at church (explosion) family gatherings (explosion). :)

I'm glad one of my baby gifts was a large diaper bag because I needed to carry a few extra sets of clothing and a plastic zippy bag wherever I went. Oh the stories I have to tell her when she grows up!

We use OxyClean on the stains. We take an old toothbrush and rub a little on the stain and let it soak over night, then wash normally! The pooh almost always comes out on the first attempt!

The only stain remover that has worked for my baby pooh stains (and believe me, my children were blow-out babies several times a day!), was Dreft spray pre-treater. Thought I've used it constantly over the last 3 years, I'm still on my 1st bottle. Unfortunatly, I haven't seen it around recently and I'd love to buy more. If anyone knows where I can buy it, please let me know!

I would suggest using Pampers diapers! I always had issues with leakage until I switched to Pampers Swaddlers, than Cruisers.

Oxy clean - I have used it for all 3 of our children and now give it as a shower gift. With my 1st born, I just kept a bucket in the washtub since that happened daily. I would put one scoop in with some cold water and let it soak overnight... then wash the next day and clothes would appear brand new again! No scrubbing or anything required!

I am a huge fan of oxy clean. They make a baby version and a no-dye, perfume one as well. I literally soak my son's bibs in the spray and then put it in his wash. It works wonders!

By the way, have you tried a different diaper? My friend uses Huggies and has the same problem We use Pampers with our 9 month old and it has happened only twice.

I use Spray n wash stain stick and let it soak over night. It almost always comes out on the first try. Even if there is some still on there after washing and drying, if I do it again it will come out. It works for most everything that you get on your clothes even grease. Good luck!

Something that I learned from my mom, that I never would have thought of is dish soap. I use Dawn myself, but it might not matter what brand. That might be trial and error. Dawn is what I use for dishes, so I use it for clothes, too. It works great! I've used it to get out all kinds of stains, food or poop that I was worried Shout wouldn't. I just put the Dawn on the stain, get it soapy and rub it good. Then, I let it soak for a little while in warm water. The worse the stain is, the longer I soak it. I hope you have luck with it, too!
