I am 23 weeks prego and I am carrying very low, well alot lower then my other two. I have noticed in last week or so if I am on my feet for just an hour I have so much pressure and begin to get cramps like I am menstrating and to be completely honest it feels like my whole bottom is goin to fall out LOL but seriously. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, the pressure is very uncomfortable and with her being so low it does worry me. So is this normal?
Ok well I am still having the same symptoms and I go to my Dr on Monday and I will let everyone know what happens. I just wanted to let all of you know how greatful I am that all of you responded to my question, I really thought that I wouldnt get any response at all, to my surprize I did and they were all very helpful and I just wanted to say thank you so very much. I am beginning to love this site LOL. I also wanted to add that before this pregnancy I had a miscarriage which scares me bc the reason for the miscarriage had to do with my placenta not being formed correctly and it eventually separated from the baby, I am wondering if I should be worried bc of that well I guess I will find out on Monday please keep me in your prayers and lets keep our fingers crossed that all of this is just a part of pregnancy.

This could have been my question....
I just had my third and felt the same way. My OB told me that it's common to carry lower with subsequent pregnancies. For me, it resulted in a super fast labor because I was dilated so much before I had even gone into labor :)
I had the same experience with my third pregnancy as well. Around 16 weeks we visited Disney World and the pressure was god awful. I felt like the baby was going to fall out. It turns out I had placenta previa where the placenta blocks the birth canal. Fortunately, it moved before I had a normal vaginal delivery at 38 weeks. Maybe ask your doctor to check for that at your next appointment to see if that could be it. There is nothing you can do for the previa so even if that is what is causing the pressure, you will at least have peace of mind. H. this helps!
I looked like I had my own ski slope and that was just the first baby! I'd talk to your OB if you are concerned, but it might just be where this baby is laying/where the placenta attached/where your muscles want to be. Pressure is probably not good, though, so I'd get checked out.
I know that feeling your talking about! it's awful! Although I carry really high and have with all my pregnancies (this is my third also I'm 30 weeks) But yeah it's like the pressure from the baby makes it feel like my crotch is gonna fall right out. Or something is about to fall out. LOL it's just normal pressure from the baby. Just try to sit down or lay down when you feel like this. It seems to help.
I am 27 weeks with #3 and feel like I am carrying lower too -- though not as low and uncomfortable as you sound. Near the end with #2, I wore a support belt I got for running (ran up till 30 weeks with #2, currently running with #3) more for daily use -- Gabrialla -- I purchased on Amazon. It was great to make sure my back was in alignment and give support to the "hanging" baby. Pretty cheap- under $30 http://www.amazon.com/Gabrialla-Maternity-Support-Belt-Me... .... I did my homework before buying one and love this one.
Still- mention it to your OB as he/she might want to check you and make sure you aren't dilating prematurely. Best wishes!
I am carrying low too. When I went in for an ultrasound, the tech said 'it's nothing to be concerned about now, but as you progress in your pregnancy, let's H. she moves up. Otherwise, she'll be blocking the birth canal'. Talk about having me worry! Even when she said, 'don't worry!' :)
I think as the pregnancy progresses, and the baby starts to put their weight on, they'll be forced to move up - out of needing more room to grow. So, at 23 weeks, I think you have some time (like me) to see how it goes...

Wait 'til you get to number 5! There may be a garment that can help keep the baby in place and reduce some of the pressure.

i just had my second child 7 weeks ago and I carried super low with her. So uncomfortable. Go get yourself a maternity belt. I got mine at Mimi maternity but you could go to any place that sells maternity clothes. I can't tell you how much that helped!!
I'm 34 weeks with #2 and just talked to my doc about this yesterday. She said that it is because the muscles in your body have already been used and abused. With the cramping/painful contraction like feelings I've been having doc advised drinking more water and that would lessen the intensity of the feelings. Good luck! I would talk to your Ob at your next appt. But I just wanted to let you know I am in the same boat! Sometimes I feel like this baby is going to fall out while I'm walking!
I carried my second daughter low in between the legs low head down for 3 months till she was born very uncomfortable to say the least I did do physical therpay to help relieve some discomfort & continuned to rest at home I didn't do much while I was preggo with her & I refused to lift anything heavy or above my head. When she was born my water broke went to the hospital & out she came I was in true labor all for a mere 35 minuets she came out bruised from being low & coming out fast her forhead, nose cheeks was a light purplish color she resumed back to normal within 48 hrs. They also had to stick a tube to suction her she had fluid in her lungs don't know how common that is but she was fine.
My drs didn't say it was bad that she was down low I did have sympotoms of preterm labor which was monitored & did a fetal test to see if there was a chance she would come early in the next few days but no it was normal I leaked urine like I was peeing my pants I did all I could do to keep her in utero for as long as possible & she was born full term happy healthy no damages to her from being head down low for so long.Keep off your feet unless yo have to get up,drink water all day long, rest on left side, walk for moderate exercise take your time doing house chores, no sex it was so painful I couldn't mange but if you can go for it,eat healthy & splurge on junk when you get the cravings!!!!
