With my son (1st pregnancy) I had leakage early too. With my daughter, not at all. Also w/ second I did not become as engorged after delivery like I did the first time. I would say nothing to worry about.
Hi Ladies,
I am about two and a half weeks from my due date. My breasts have gotten bigger with this pregnancy but I am not leaking anything. This is my second pregnancy and with my first I was already leaking around the 32nd week. By the time he finally came I was full with milk. But this time Nada.
I have heard that it is more likely to come in sooner with your second pregnancy, especially if it came early with your first but I dont know if this is true.
Do I need to be worried? It is really important to me that I am able to breastfeed.
Thanks

my milk didn't come in until day 1 or 2 after I gave birth (can't remember exactly) I still put her on the breast and pumped but had to supplement until it started flowin' It was horrible to have to supplement at the time but it all worked out and I breast fed for over 2 years! There are herbal teas etc that can help with milk production try "Mother's Milk" I think it's Traditonal medicine or Yogi teas. Oh and my lactation consultant had me eat STEAL cut oats, they help too..helpful hint soak the night before and they don't take as long to cook or you can now buy 5 minute version at trader joe's
NOTHING to worry about.... NOTHING; I tell you... Most women do not leak at all... Does not matter what happened before either. Even if you were leaking colostrum (not milk; I tell you) with your first pregnancy and NOTHING with this one means NOTHING.... So just relax and enjoy your last few weeks. Do not worry and increase stress hormones and therefore reduce production due to stress. If your body fed a baby once before, you are actually better off this time than before. Congratulations.
I can tell you things are different for me this time around too. My first pregnancy, I was making collostrum and leaking a little at 12 weeks! My milk came in full force at 3 days post partum and I breastfed my daughter for 13 months. This is the weird part, I still got a collostrum like substance from my nipples up until I was pregnant with this one (I am 30 weeks along--still nothing!) That means I had it for almost 2 years after I stopped breastfeeding..weird...I was told its nothing to worry about though and somewhat normal. Anyway, I am over here dry at 30 weeks, I am not worried. I was such a milk making machine last time that theres no way my body doesn't know what to do, you should be the same way.
I never had a drop of anything before birth in either of my pregnancies, and I joke that I could have fed my whole block both times:D My milk came in a few days post delivery both times and before that it was colostrum. I wouldn't worry:)
I never leaked pre-baby, but was producing MILK within 2 days of her birth. I wouldn't worry about it. I think you might just be freaking yourself out because you're so close to your due date. Try to relax and enjoy the next few weeks!
Every pregnancy, like every baby is different. I wouldn't worry about it. I never leaked before having the babies.
Um, maybe tmi, but give your nipple a squeze.. you should have colostrum come out. There is not doubt you are empty! But that should take your mind off things!
I'm in the same boat as you, KM. First pregnancy, huge and leaky breasts- this time around (I'm 36 weeks) I still have nothing (unless I squeeze my nipples then I'll get a drop or two)....
It worried me also but I tell myself that its because my breasts already "know" what to do...
Keep us posted!
I had to start wearing breast pads at 13 weeks with my first, because I leaked so much! But I have been pregnant 3 times since then, and didn't leak at all with those three. I think it's more common to leak with a first, if at all. Don't worry one bit. You'll be fine. I'm due today!! I can't believe I didn't go early with my 4th baby! I am trying to be patient, but I am REALLY ready to hold this little guy, and I so look forward to nursing again.
Good luck!

Talk to your doc, but I didnt leak anything during my 1st pregnancy, given I couldnt breastfeed (I had an infection and was on powerful medication) but I didnt find out after the baby was born.
Don't worry. I did not leak with either of my boys until a few days after they were born, and then I leaked for almost a year and could easily have fed a small village. :) Enjoy!
I never leaked during pregnancy and had plenty of milk soon after birth. No worries. Enjoy!
I never once leaked with both of my pregnancies. I think everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. That being said, I wasn't able to breast feed and believe me I tried everything, and did everything my LC told me to do. My LC actually gave up and told me that I'm one of the very few that doesn't make milk after 4 weeks of working with her. So, everyone is different. I wouldn't worry
Don't worry! Every pregnancy is different. I never leaked at all whatsoever and had no trouble breastfeeding.
Good luck!
