I am looking for different things to do with my 17month old girl locally in murfreesboro. I am interested in parks, playgrounds as well as indoor activities. And suggestions?

What can I do next?

Hello,
Check out hte storytimes at the library, my children liked them. Also, Patterson park has many different hings for a low cost. Check out the Rutherford Parent magazine to see what all there is. It will be listed by county and place. THe playground onthe Greeneway is the best toddler one I've been to. The others are too big or have the sand that is nasty. You could probably use school playgrounds over the weekends or day s that they are out. THe play area in Stones River mall was a hit withthe 17 month old that I babysit.Hop it helps.

H.,

There are several parks like Old Fort Park (Kid's Castle), Barfield Park, Oakland Park (Highland Ave). Of course with the weather turning cooler some inside activities would be Discovery Center ($5.00 for you free for little one until she turns 2) OR $70. annual membership for the whole family. Ther is a new Bounce place over on Park Ave. called Bounce U, indoors and has smaller things for little ones. Of course the library is an option if her attention can be held for any length of time. The soft play area at the mall is an option on cold and dreay days too. There are several Moms playgroups out there. I am part of Tennessee Moms of Rutherford County. We do activities with the kids every Friday, have a Mom's Night Out once a month and meet for Lunch the first Tuesday of every month.

Hope you can find an outlet that works for you and your little girl.

On rainy days and cold days you can go to Stones River Mall and in front of JCPenney is a soft play area. The kids love it. Also, Sportscom on Dejarnette (across from State Farm) has Toddler Time on Mon, Weds and Fri. They do things like dance, sing, count, play with balls, parachutes, hula hoops, etc It is only $3, you have to call and sign up in advance.
There is Old Fort, King's Castle, park. It is a bit cold now but it is a nice place for them to play. Lots of shade. There is Discovery Center on Broad going toward Mercury. It will be on the right. There are a ton of things to do in there. It is $5 per adult and children 2 and above so your daughter is free right now. Definitely try there. Patterson Park, on Mercury, turn left onto Mercury after Discovery Center and it will be on your left. they have several classes too like at Sportscom.

Then...............Chuck E Cheese! ha ha

Have fun.
